According to K's website:
Friday May 21: Oakland @ the 40th Street Warehouse(with the Quails?), 379 40th St., early show, price unknown, all ages.

Exactly how early is early? It lists shows at other places as early as 7, does this mean I have to get there at 6? Anyone actually been to the Warehouse?

Leee, the 379 40th street warehouse was busted last month for noise violations and threatened to discontinue shows there. i'd imagine the earliness is due to neighborhood complaints... ie, probably no music after 10pm. ask burmakitty for specifics.

i've been there about 30-40 times, although i haven't been in about a year. it's a warehouse space that used to host tons of shows and now only occasionally.

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 21 May 2004 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

i think i saw lightning bolt there. scariest part of the world

JaXoN (JasonD), Friday, 21 May 2004 17:53 (twenty-two years ago)

haha, that is about 2 blocks from your buddy N@nn3tt3's old house.

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 21 May 2004 17:58 (twenty-two years ago)

no, the scariest part of the world is where Recombinant Lab is

kyle (akmonday), Friday, 21 May 2004 17:59 (twenty-two years ago)

oh, this is different warehouse in oakland than. they lived on 51rst and telegraph, and while i never really felt scared there, we did hear gunshots when we were at a bar across the street.

i think the one i was totally scared was more near grand and 7th or something? i don't know oakland that well.

JaXoN (JasonD), Friday, 21 May 2004 18:13 (twenty-two years ago)

that area is now known amongst my friends as "the rock block" and is inhabited largely by 20-something indie kids. This doesn't change my wife's opinion of the area as horribly dangerous considering our friend got beaten and mugged right in front of his house. It's a pretty neighborhood though, actually.

kyle (akmonday), Friday, 21 May 2004 18:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Is there anyway of securing advance tickets, i.e. how likely is it to sell out??

Leeefuse 73 (Leee), Friday, 21 May 2004 19:44 (twenty-two years ago)

not likely

kyle (akmonday), Friday, 21 May 2004 19:54 (twenty-two years ago)

hahahahaaaaa

Leee, this is what is known as a "house party". You will be seeing some bands play in someone's living quarters. There are no "tickets", there is no "box office", just show up and expect to see many womyn.
