No More Music at Work BAAAH!

I'm finally working, doing a nice easy pleasant contract job. My computer started acting weird - rather than fix it, they replaced it with another one with NO SOUND CARD. No more CDs, no more radio, no more nice This American Life, no more news. I was already crabby, but now I am CRABBBBBY. Say "poor baby" at least.

Poor baby. I too have no music at work and my already twisted personality is becoming even stranger.

Michael White (Hereward), Friday, 21 May 2004 18:38 (twenty-two years ago)

here's two twenties ... get a walkman.

poor baby. desk jobs should automatically entail being able to listen to music. wasn't that one of the main tenets of the geneva convention?

Call in the Tragically Hip!

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Friday, 21 May 2004 18:44 (twenty-two years ago)

It just occurred to me that I'm going to be able to listen to music at my new job. This will be either glorious or dangerous, or both.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 21 May 2004 18:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Poor baby.

(I would lose my mind)

I haven't had music at work for three years. THough before that I worked in a live music nightclub where music was always at work and often really terrible and it's not like you can say, "all right, we've listened to YOUR music all day, can we put on something else?"

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Friday, 21 May 2004 18:55 (twenty-two years ago)

No music at work = AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA *good thoughts for Layna*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 21 May 2004 18:56 (twenty-two years ago)

How can you people work while listening to music? I think I would just, you know, listen to the music because it's so much more interesting!

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 21 May 2004 18:57 (twenty-two years ago)

they could have just deactivated the sound card. Ask an IT guy if he can turn it back on for you.

Kingfish Disraeli (Kingfish), Friday, 21 May 2004 18:59 (twenty-two years ago)

You is freak, Jordan. (More seriously -- I dunno, perhaps it's different perspectives in that you are a musician and we're just the merry listening fools. :-))

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 21 May 2004 18:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't listen to music at work because I have to answer the phones. It's lame.

NA (Nick A.), Friday, 21 May 2004 19:00 (twenty-two years ago)

No, the IT guy set it up - there really is none in there.

I do have a walkman-like thing, but it has Darth Maul on it (hey, it was on clearance, it cost like $5) & thus is sort of embarassing.

Oh well, I'll be able to listen to music at the M0untain G0ats show tomorrow...

Layna Andersen (Layna Andersen), Friday, 21 May 2004 19:02 (twenty-two years ago)

NERRRRRRRRRRRRD!

Kingfish Disraeli (Kingfish), Friday, 21 May 2004 19:03 (twenty-two years ago)

No, Ned.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 21 May 2004 19:04 (twenty-two years ago)

i work so much better with music on - i tend to not let other things (ilx) dystract me from my efforts.
but alas - i had my music cut off about 2 months ago because i didn't hear someone call me from across the room. once.

dyson (dyson), Friday, 21 May 2004 19:05 (twenty-two years ago)

NEEEEEEDDDDDD!

[/Shatner]

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 21 May 2004 19:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah yes.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 21 May 2004 19:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I listen to music, but it's hard to get it loud enough to drown out the LITE radio station they have blasting in here and my co-worker's gospel music.
