stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 21 May 2004 21:00 (twenty-two years ago)

But it tastes good.

Leeefuse 73 (Leee), Friday, 21 May 2004 21:01 (twenty-two years ago)

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 21 May 2004 21:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Depends on how hungry you are.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 21 May 2004 21:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Expensive food. Every time.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Friday, 21 May 2004 21:02 (twenty-two years ago)

expensive food has a lot to live up to, ie this sure as hell BETTER taste good. whereas with free food if it doesn't taste like diseased bat anus, it's really good.

oops (Oops), Friday, 21 May 2004 21:04 (twenty-two years ago)

when do you get free food, unless you;re going through a dumpster?
at work i guess, but then, the company / organization paid for it, and it's $0.19 cents out of your salary.

paulhw (paulhw), Friday, 21 May 2004 21:07 (twenty-two years ago)

oops knows the score -- he done gone to college like!

Leeefuse 73 (Leee), Friday, 21 May 2004 21:08 (twenty-two years ago)

xpost: the best food is when you're really hungry and/or have worked for it. there's cheap food that's really good and better than most expensive food, but expensive food is probably better on average, though the expense makes you more likely to be disappointed, and sometimes the most expensive food isn't as good as somewhat less expensive food. it pretty much comes down to how fresh/quality the ingredients are and how much attention went into putting them together. the former need not relate directly to expense, but the latter well may.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Friday, 21 May 2004 21:09 (twenty-two years ago)

hahahahaha Leee, that was hilarious!

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Friday, 21 May 2004 21:10 (twenty-two years ago)

i feel better about myself eating bad expensive food than bad cheap food. it kinda comes down to "eh, that was mediocre but i guess the bread was good" v. "bleurgh, i just ate a lot of crap and now i'm going to be depressed for the rest of the day."

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 21 May 2004 21:12 (twenty-two years ago)

agreed, cindy.

paulhw (paulhw), Friday, 21 May 2004 21:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Free expensive food makes me happy.

Michael White (Hereward), Friday, 21 May 2004 22:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I am often disappointed by free expensive food

gabbneb (gabbneb), Friday, 21 May 2004 22:03 (twenty-two years ago)

gabbneb otm

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 21 May 2004 22:04 (twenty-two years ago)

usually, expensive food comes with expectations that have little to do with the expense

gabbneb (gabbneb), Friday, 21 May 2004 22:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Steak Tartare to thread URGENTLY!!!!!!!!

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Friday, 21 May 2004 22:05 (twenty-two years ago)

i eat a lot of free food at art opening type affairs. it's always terrible.

paulhw (paulhw), Friday, 21 May 2004 22:13 (twenty-two years ago)

You gain a rapid knowledge of Charles Shaw wine there.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 21 May 2004 22:49 (twenty-two years ago)

gabbneb OTM. Appetite/hunger have lots more to do with it than expense. (Old saying: hunger is the best sauce.) It's just that fewer people in the wealthy nations, at least, allow themselves to get sharp set before they eat. Once your appetite is on edge, almost any food seems grebt.

Aimless (Aimless), Friday, 21 May 2004 23:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Free food for fuck's fucking sake. It's fucking free!

Fuck.

martin m. (mushrush), Friday, 21 May 2004 23:59 (twenty-two years ago)

oops (Oops), Saturday, 22 May 2004 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Exactly.

martin m. (mushrush), Saturday, 22 May 2004 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

sometimes the best food is something you put a lot of effort into

gabbneb (gabbneb), Saturday, 22 May 2004 00:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I mean, who knows better what you like

gabbneb (gabbneb), Saturday, 22 May 2004 00:05 (twenty-two years ago)

The best food in the world is the food that I make myself, expecially my currys. Oh, my pancakes are great as well. And lets not forget my steak and Guinness stew . . . num num!

Johnney B, Saturday, 22 May 2004 07:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm a good cook but I get some really amazing free food at launches and parties (macaroons from Sketch to thread).

suzy (suzy), Saturday, 22 May 2004 08:07 (twenty-two years ago)

free food is when somone asks you over to dinner of course. its usually pretty great.

expensive food i can't comment on

mullygrubber (gaz), Saturday, 22 May 2004 08:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Expensive food when the wait staff at supposedly "best place in town" establishment are stuck up unsufferable c**ts is the foulest taste known to man.

My food made proudly and gobbled up with great love my my boi is manna from heaven, innit.
