anyone know of a good mp3 encoder for OS 8.5?

If you can track down a copy, I used to use SoundJam MP, and I think there was a free version. Worked wonderfully, but the company folded a few years ago.

If you're very, very clever, you can get iTunes to work on OS 8.5.

(Actually it's probably just 8.6, but still.)

soundjam MP was wonderful. it had a vocal removal feature that actually worked, which i have never found anywhere else. sad to hear about the folding

Why are you still running 8.5?

Er, 8.6 is considered by some to be better than 9, and some older machines won't run OS X.

I repeat my question.

And 8.6 is just a fancy term for "8.5.∞".

It seems to still be floating around, here, for example. Only needs OS 8.1.

Sorry - that doesn't work.

It's on here but says the encoder only works free for a 10 day trial. Seeing as the developers have gone out of business, I guess there's no way of paying to register it.

thanks Nick, I'll go there and dl while i make pancakes. it looked like i had another choice to try as well. i have an old imac which my mom gave me. For the price, i'll struggle with the slow clock speed of OS 8.5.
