I just ate week old Afghan food

It was this ravioli-like dish, a dumpling with ground lamb that had yogurt-like sauce -- so I couldn't tell if its tartness was something to be worried about. It had a side of spinach, which was sour.

If I don't post back here tomorrow, assume that I am dead!

week-old food = not necessarily a problem at all
week-old food containing meat = possibly a problem

Broheems (diamond), Sunday, 23 May 2004 05:45 (twenty-two years ago)

The meat had no strange taste -- though the amount of herbs and seasoning could've masked any rot. How medieval!

Leeefuse 73 (Leee), Sunday, 23 May 2004 05:53 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, well, that meat might be fixing to get medieval ... ON YOU!

Broheems (diamond), Sunday, 23 May 2004 05:57 (twenty-two years ago)

your wisdom is great, leee.

Ian Johnson (orion), Sunday, 23 May 2004 05:57 (twenty-two years ago)

i think you should go to the bathroom, stick your fingers down your throat, and try to empty the contents of your tummy into the toilet. thats what i do when i just get home, really drunk, and dont want to wake up in the morning still drunk.

I suggest doing what you can to expedite its trip through your digestive system.

I live!

Leeefuse 73 (Leee), Sunday, 23 May 2004 17:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I am assuming this food was refrigerated during the week in question. If so, then no shockah there. If not, I beg to inform you your reservoir of luck has just been drained and swimming or diving is prohibited for the rest of the summer.

How long is the incubation period for DEATH?

Leeefuse 73 (Leee), Sunday, 23 May 2004 21:35 (twenty-two years ago)

About 87 years.

Ian Johnson (orion), Monday, 24 May 2004 04:25 (twenty-two years ago)

the dish you had is really good when it's not a week old, btw.

amateur!st (amateurist), Monday, 24 May 2004 04:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Too late! Leeefuse 73 is dead!

Leee's a Simpson (Leee), Monday, 24 May 2004 18:28 (twenty-two years ago)

i had food poisoning last night and this morning, many trips to the toilet, it was either a chipotle burrito or orange juice?

I just bought a cool-looking snack at a Korean supermarket, but sadly only noted a date on the front that read Oct 2003 AFTER I bought it. The lettering around it is all in Korean so I can't tell if it's an expiry date or what...and the product isn't on the manufacturer's site any more. I haven't eaten it yet, but it looks cool: potatoey things in the shape of little squid. Phil thinks I should eat them, but Phil may want me dead.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Monday, 24 May 2004 19:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't know what's funnier, that it's a squid treat or that it expired in October 2003.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Monday, 24 May 2004 20:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Squid snacks ain't no (nu) thang.

Leee's a Simpson (Leee), Monday, 24 May 2004 20:09 (twenty-two years ago)

No, apparently they're over 6 months old!

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Monday, 24 May 2004 20:12 (twenty-two years ago)

They're dried snacks though, and should be able to keep for longtemps. I'm with Phil here, DIE eat!

Leee's a Simpson (Leee), Monday, 24 May 2004 20:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah sure, keep telling yourself that's a "squid" that that thing looks like.

Kim (Kim), Monday, 24 May 2004 20:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, they don't look like squid, they look like rocketships!

They look all snack-foody. That sort of thing doesn't really go bad, does it?

JuliaA (j_bdules), Monday, 24 May 2004 20:26 (twenty-two years ago)

http://ox.eicat.ca/~scarruthers/ilx/squid-treat.jpg

rocketship.... riiiiight. THAT's exactly what I was thinking.

Kim (Kim), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 01:36 (twenty-two years ago)

So - did you eat them?

Kim (Kim), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 01:37 (twenty-two years ago)

This is the thread where we nag Sean into eating a bag of dicks.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 01:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Tep you are like genius

Kim (Kim), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 02:01 (twenty-two years ago)

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 02:31 (twenty-two years ago)

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 02:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Kim (Kim), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 02:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Man, that's a bag of (dick/squid-shaped) crisps: how badly off can it be? Do it do it do it.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 08:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Well? Were they squiddy or cheesey?

Rumpy Pumpkin (rumpypumpkin), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 10:57 (twenty-two years ago)

or deadly!

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 14:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I decided that I'm not actually to eat them, but will send them to the next person who really needs to eat a bag of dicks.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Wuss!

I have mole sauce that expired sometime before my ex and I split up in 2001 (which means I've taken it with me twice when I've moved), only because I cannot open it. Neither a can opener nor a bottle-type opener will do it, and by the time I decided to just break the glass, it was years past its prime.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 14:30 (twenty-two years ago)

that's weird!

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 14:42 (twenty-two years ago)
