Right - secret pub last year = best ever idea. I am rattled by the "evil"/nasty publicity

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I think the contestants will all be hooded when the arrive, is the idea.

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Beige carpets = people fighting with each other, apparently.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I have heard that the task in the first week is to give blood, until they fill a galoon flagoon and then they will be allowed to eat. And of course it will get them pissed quicker.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, Pete.

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:36 (twenty-two years ago)

they could all wear masks, it would be a bit Eyes Wide Shut tho. i like the whole 'evil' theme i just hope they deliver on their promise, i want to see these people SUFFER physically and emotionally in the name of entertainment.

stevem (blueski), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:36 (twenty-two years ago)

remember the golden rule tho - talking about Big Brother >>>>>>>>>>> watching Big Brother

stevem (blueski), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:36 (twenty-two years ago)

How far would you go, though? Stress positions? Menacing with dogs? Fortunately, BB is a democracy, so the public will get what it wants (ie sexual humiliation).

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Trailing the new series as 'evil' is a bit like when Sporty Spice tried to rebrand herself as punk/metal/goth/etc.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:38 (twenty-two years ago)

maybe it'll become a house makeover show?

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:38 (twenty-two years ago)

of course if they'd ACTUALLY PICKED INTERESTING PEOPLE RATHER THAN DULLARDS last year, there wouldn't have been so much of a rush towards nastiness. also i think channel 4 are under the impression that loud/gobby/confrontational = interesting, rather than intelligent/funny/opinionated

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Masks = already employed by that bonkers dating show that replaced Blind Date.

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:41 (twenty-two years ago)

As Tickle last year was a huge success (love him or hate him), maybe they'll have a load of wannabe inventors in with their patent ideas?

The Ray mentalism drunk vileness - was that popular? It made me less inclined to watch if there was likely to be more of it.

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:42 (twenty-two years ago)

(err title should be 2004 of course - i am menk ahead of his time - OH AND ADMIN! maybe i change...)

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:43 (twenty-two years ago)

(THE POWER IS INTOXICATING)

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:44 (twenty-two years ago)

BB housemates: POV!!

Tickle
Brian
Helen
PaulClarke
Lesbian Nun woman who's name escapes me...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:44 (twenty-two years ago)

(BAD GOLLUM)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:45 (twenty-two years ago)

ANNA!

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Jade Tickle Helen Anna Brian

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:46 (twenty-two years ago)

That lesbian nun was the worst contestant so far.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't remember a thing about last year. Only that Federico was really worryingly vain. But I'll give over 100 hours of my life anyway to BB5. Fuck!

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:51 (twenty-two years ago)

also i think channel 4 are under the impression that loud/gobby/confrontational = interesting, rather than intelligent/funny/opinionated

but the General Public would seem to agree with that. Take a look at any shelf in your nearest Paper Selling Emporium.

'Jade - why I'm happy to be a loud-mouthed, gobby, confrontational millionaire, single mum.'

Apparently, someone out there still cares..

hobart paving (hobart paving), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:53 (twenty-two years ago)

This year, I'd propose:

Snake Pits under the shower
a HIDDEN CROCODILE that crawls out halfway through the show, and eats one of the contestants.
a HIDDEN CROCODILE and SNAKE PIT outside the house, to catch the contestants as they're evicted... will they be fast enough to make it to the studio? and even if they do, will they choose the dangers of the jungle or an hour with davina mccall?

BEARS. in the cupboards. some sing selections from 'The Sound Of Music', and some eat people. They're switched around every day, so people don't know what to expect.

Channel Four need me, really.

hobart paving (hobart paving), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:00 (twenty-two years ago)

i like the bears idea a lot. sing or maul? you decide

stevem (blueski), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:04 (twenty-two years ago)

That lesbian nun was the worst contestant so far.

What fucking planet are you on, Ronan? It's posts like this that make me seriously think you're in training to be Marcello.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Calm down, Mark! Not everyone likes the same people.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:16 (twenty-two years ago)

SOMFB!

Tim (Tim), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Huh?

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Er, blimey, I think. I am confused by Mark C's comment.

SOMBF = some of my best friends. SOMFB = some of my fuzzy-wuzzy bears?

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't like Anna the nun either, she was full of it.

chris (chris), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Right then, who's going to volunteer to invite loads of people round their house in order to drink beer and watch the first night?

Well, I would, only I will be mid-flat move and both flats are a bit on the small side.

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, well, feel free y'all.

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah, Sissy, how brief was your appearance.

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:04 (twenty-two years ago)

N largely OTM except for sissy misplaced in the S list

I liked the bird who dropped out in week 1 too. And Bubble

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Sissy was on some 'in the back of a taxi' TV prog recently. I had to think quite hard after they said 'last year's BB contestant Sissy'...

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Remind me who Sissy was...

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Why has no one mentioned GAE yet?!

I'd still like to destroy Cameron. I was thinking of sitting in the house watching BB all night ...... especially if they have the live feed on on the first night

chris (chris), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:13 (twenty-two years ago)

The live feed is enthralling on the first night. About the only time it is so, in fact.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:15 (twenty-two years ago)

in case you didn't see DS:BB's reporting The People's "scoop" of the contestant line up

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Also, from the Sun "A source told the newspaper: “We have deliberately squirrelled away the housemates early because we don’t want them to find out that this year’s theme is Big Brother gets evil. They went into hiding on Sunday. We want them to have a really big shock.""

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Hang on, did I really see the world 'The Asylum Seeker'?! If so, the next two weeks are going to be horrible (ie until he is inevitably first evictee).

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:18 (twenty-two years ago)

world = words.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:19 (twenty-two years ago)

"a wealthy businessman and ... former asylum seeker who has made good in Britain"

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:19 (twenty-two years ago)

sissy was the scouse one that looked like sissy spacek (sp?). sissy was not her real name, it was her nickname because...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:20 (twenty-two years ago)

"The Lesbians" = oh dear. Cheap Daily Sport titillation ahoy.

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Sissy was beautiful

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Now to the more important matter in hand - when are we holding TRIG BROTHER 2004?!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:22 (twenty-two years ago)

My guess: in some pubs, around Soho and Fitzrovia.

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:23 (twenty-two years ago)

and a surprise location

chris (chris), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:23 (twenty-two years ago)

http://bigbrother.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds6096.html

blimey look at those interiors, that's enough to drive anyone potty...

i'm guessing TB2004 won't be until after the football finishes, but nothing is in stone yet, except TOM IS PLAYING!!!

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Sinister's arse is going down bigstyle this year.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:27 (twenty-two years ago)

i don't know *what* you mean matt...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I wouldn't be so sure Matt. The proportion of Sinistral competitors is likely to be higher than ever this year => the block vote cannot be discounted.

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:31 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm odds on to go out in the first round THIS time...

stevem (blueski), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:33 (twenty-two years ago)

blimey look at those interiors, that's enough to drive anyone potty...

they're RUBBISH! i could have designed something WORSE THAN THAT! have these people never watched indiana jones and the temple of doom? where's the big swing-ey ball thing, and the bit where the spears spring out of the walls?

this is pretty lame, really: 'we'll get lots of people in the house, and we'll drive them mad with NOVELTY BEDSPREADS!'. you're going to need a lot more than that to get me watching..

hobart paving (hobart paving), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:33 (twenty-two years ago)

'a lot more than that' being someone vaguely fanciable with their shirt off, probably

hobart paving (hobart paving), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I like the duvet covers

chris (chris), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:35 (twenty-two years ago)

i quite like the big circular lights. that house is better decorated than mine.

hobart paving (hobart paving), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Transparent toilet/shower walls...

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:39 (twenty-two years ago)

To watch lesbians doing that not actually sex thing that they do in Channel 5 erotic dramas through.

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:41 (twenty-two years ago)

That thatched spa thing's good though, innit?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Not the sort of thing one can say in a liberal arts college -- must actual sex involve penetration?

ENRQ (Enrique), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Umm but there is no e.g. fisting in C5 erotic dramas. I hope.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:45 (twenty-two years ago)

None in 'Armageddon' fo sho.

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:46 (twenty-two years ago)

If there is no fisting in BB5 I'll be inconsolable.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Of course sex doesn't require actual penetration. But that weird caressing/groaning thing that happens on Channel 5 is not real actual sex no matter which mix of genders are involved.

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:47 (twenty-two years ago)

If there is no fisting in BB5 I'll be inconsolable.

what about in TB4?

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:48 (twenty-two years ago)

but sex = sexual intercourse, intercourse = penetration?

stevem (blueski), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:50 (twenty-two years ago)

'two fellas kissin' and cuddlin'? you must think i'm stupid'

stevem (blueski), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:51 (twenty-two years ago)

A lesbian would disagree (probably).

xpost

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:51 (twenty-two years ago)

intercourse !=> penetration!

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:53 (twenty-two years ago)

intercourse is not equal to or less than penetration??

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:57 (twenty-two years ago)

That's a greater than sign.

Or a mucky picture.

Tim (Tim), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Er, yeah, that was a bit rub of me. Intercourse doesn't imply penetration.

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:57 (twenty-two years ago)
