TS: Brad Pitt v. MANOWAR

Which does a better job of capturing the character of Achilles? Brad Pitt in "Troy," or Manowar on "Achilles, Agony and Ecstasy in Eight Parts?"

Hmmmm...kind of tough to believe Brad Pitt getting really really mad. Even when he was trying to look mad in the movie, it looked more like he couldn't get the setting off "smolder." On the other hand, Manowar sounds like they are quite interested in killing at least a few people on "Achilles." The movie was weak, and, while the song isn't that great, the whole time I was watching the movie I kept thinking, "Manowar would really spice this up." Granted, I ain't heard the song in about 8 years, but I am going to go ahead and say Manowar wins.

By the way, the obvious conclusion is that they are both awful, and that the Iliad is not really adapt-able, which is a more than fair assesment, but does not answer the question.

The Iliad is totally adaptable. Just not as a standard 2 hour film. It needs to be a "made for TV event" that runs three hours every night for like two weeks.

That would totally rock, now that I think about it.

It has actually been done many times. Italian and Greek films.

I've never heard Brad Pitt play a furious rendition of "Flight of the Bumble Bee" on bass, so MANOWAR wins, burly and veiny hands down.

Manowar were born to live for EVERMORE, so they win.

OTOH, I remember Kodanshi saying that MANOWAR was a way of saying something was really shit, IE that jamie cullum rekkid is totally MANOWAR, but, brad pitt could be cockney rhyming slang, couldn't it? As in Jamie Cullum is a load of brad?
