I'm also going to the Commodore Ballroom show for Mission Of Burma and Kinski that Friday night... so anyone going to that, I'll be there too.

Dave Q, I understand you do not live close to Vancouver, so I obviously won't impose, but if for any reason, you can and WANT to find your way over here this week, I'd certainly put you up in my room (just west of Gastown, Pender/Hastings) and buy you a drink(s).

I have another friend (outside ILX) who lives in the Commercial Drive area who might be interested in joining in, so I certainly wouldn't mind going out there for a drink. Sound good, Sym? LC? (dave q if you're out here?)
Also, I probably won't make it until 5pmish if that's alright with people... I could do even 6pm or so... Y'all have my number now. so Call me.

If any of you are having a hard time getting in touch with me via phone, let me know here or via email, btw. (I've had problems in Vancouver, 604 specifically, in the past where people couldn't call me on my cell but I could call them.)

Tomorrow, I might be doing lunch with LC, since I'm staying just blocks away from where he's working.
There are vague plans to meet up before the MOB show (which starts at 7pm) to get an early dinner type thing. Are you guys up for sushi? Perhaps Nikko on Burrard?

It's 1008 Robson St., SECOND FLOOR, in downtown, right off Burrard. Just go to corner of Robson and Burrard, and there should be a sign outside saying "Nikko upstairs" or something, just off Robson. It may not be the cheapest place on earth, but it's not incredibly expensive either. And it's a GREAT place to have a FAP, I think -- even if you're having something small. If food cost is a REAL concern for any of you though, I'd suggest nibbling on a dollar slice or two somewhere beforehand. (I might do the same!)
I plan to be at Nikko around 5pm... (since the MoB show starts at 7pm at Dicks On Dicks). If no one is around (or I don't find Sym inside), I'll be waiting outside below the staircase until 5:30pm... after that, go upstairs, come in and find me. Do the latter first in any case.
I do indeed look like Fred Durst, but I'm taller than him (aka taller than 5' 2" or something... i'm 5' 10"), wearing baby blue flannel, glasses, and no red hat. Or seach almost any Seattle FAP thread on ILE.. I don't look any different now. (i say this because sometimes I do change looks radically)
Ciao!

Mission of Burma and Kinski were amazing at Dix On Diqz. Now I'm off to some electronic thing happening blocks away... later!

I really like Dicks on Dicks (Dix on Diqz should now be the official name!) as a small(ish) live venue more than a "Club" these days, although it seems to be slowly disintegrating, in the physical sense.
No, it's not odd to be weirded out, db, but neither is it odd to witness such strangeness in Vancouver, on a weekend, especially now it's officially summer, or something like that. But I can't really explain it.
