The standard warning on both prescription and over-the-counter medicines.

But have you ever disregarded the warning and exceeded the recommended dose? And if so, did you suffer any bad effects?

My thumb broke while I was in Tallinn, and my ferry to Helsinki was about to leave in a couple of hours, so I couldn't go to a doctor there (also, I had little money). I bought a pack of painkillers, and took a pill every time the pain got too awful. When I came to Helsinki and went to the hospital, I realized I'd eaten the whole pack. The side effects weren't that awful, just some dizziness and tummyache.

I self-medicate with Aspirin. I've taken upwards of 2-3 times the recommended dose with only great effects.

I gather you can really fuck yourself up if you take too much paracetomol... like in a brain damage plus shagged liver, not necessarily death kind of way.

I have this theory they cut all codeine based painkillers are cut with paracetomol to stop people enjoying too much of the magic of codeine.

I went out with someone who'd sink 6-8 paracetamol tablets at a time. She'd go through entire boxes per day. She even bought the cheap supermarket brand ones in bulk to save money.

Any bad effects? Yeah, she cheated on me.

God I thought my pillpopping habit was bad! I take codine/para tablets, never 8 AT A TIME tho, thats mental. 8 a day maybe sure. Have been doing this for years. And I'm not dead... but put it this way, I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to check for suspected liver/gall bladder problem. I puke bile now and then and Ive had pains in my side for a while now. That'll learn me.
