Ask again when playoffs over. Flames just scored again!

Huck, Wednesday, 26 May 2004 00:41 (twenty-two years ago)

We already had this thread!

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 00:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, I just found it. But really, this one has pictures, and outsiders can play too!

derrick (derrick), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 01:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, those are some great pics.

Sym (shmuel), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 03:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Can someone give me names at least? I don't feel like doing all that control-clicking.

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 04:29 (twenty-two years ago)

1: Gilles Duceppe, leader of the Bloc Quebecois
2: Jack Layton, leader of the New Democratic Party
3: Stephen Harper, leader of the Conservatives
4: Paul Martin, leader of the Liberals

The last guy was Jonny Cretin.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 04:58 (twenty-two years ago)

If I could vote for Le Petit 'Ger [did I get that right?] I would. I loved him and Mel Lastman, always good for a quote or two.
Now if it was Lord instead of Harper I might have some issues, but fuck the Reform/Alliance/Conservative Party of Canada.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 05:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I would probably vote for the Lord as well. Jesus hates taxes.

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 13:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I was trying to do it like the old Saskatchewan election thread and let people judge the leaders based on their photos, but that's ok. The only people clicking on the thread are actually curious, so I'm not complaining.

derrick (derrick), Thursday, 27 May 2004 03:57 (twenty-two years ago)

which one will let y'all smoke the good herb?

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 27 May 2004 04:04 (twenty-two years ago)

def. #2, quite probably #1 as well, though I can't be sure.

def. NOT #3, while #4 is tentatively, possibly, maybe curious about continuing the decriminalization that the retired one set in motion.

derrick (derrick), Thursday, 27 May 2004 04:34 (twenty-two years ago)

duceppe's robot eyes stare at me from every streetpost

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 27 May 2004 04:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Jack Layton is kinda spooky.

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Thursday, 27 May 2004 13:44 (twenty-two years ago)

jack layton is lovely aside from the pedo-creepy-uncle-mustache. that's gotta go. the rest of him can stay.

dyson (dyson), Thursday, 27 May 2004 13:55 (twenty-two years ago)

What about his giddyness and his beady eyes?

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Thursday, 27 May 2004 14:13 (twenty-two years ago)

giddyness = just lovely
beady eyes = i like to think he's just baked (also applies to the giddyness) and at least his eyes look human¡

dyson (dyson), Thursday, 27 May 2004 14:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I think his eyes are the least human thing about him. He has Stepford Eyes.

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Thursday, 27 May 2004 14:49 (twenty-two years ago)

mookieproof (mookieproof), Thursday, 27 May 2004 15:07 (twenty-two years ago)

That's a valid point, Mookie. Will a Flames win help the Martin Liberals maintain a majority, just as the 1992 Blue Jays World Series victory helped defeat the Charlottetown Accord.
Nothing like a major sports championship to assure Cdns that the status quo is good.

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Thursday, 27 May 2004 15:13 (twenty-two years ago)

or will a Flames win help Harper, by focusing everyone's goodwill on his homebase of Calgary?

Martin looks perpetually on the verge of tears. It's something about the bags under his eyes... he looks sad and weary.

derrick (derrick), Thursday, 27 May 2004 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe that's because he's been waiting to be prime minister for so long and now he's worried that just as soon as it's finally happened, it'll all be taken away from him!

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 27 May 2004 18:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Sabotage from beyoooooond the graaaaaave!

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 27 May 2004 18:42 (twenty-two years ago)

So I just did this http://politicswatch.com/VoteSelectorQuiz2004.html and apparently I'm #2 all the way, with a close runner up with #1.

Casuistry (Chris P), Thursday, 3 June 2004 03:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I knew there was something I liked about you.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 3 June 2004 04:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I scored 100 for Layton, but I somehow picked Harper over dead-last Martin. Sounds about right, actually.

Sym (shmuel), Thursday, 3 June 2004 04:26 (twenty-two years ago)

What the fuck's the deal with the BQ-Tory coalition, anyways? How do far-right Quebec-bashing federalists ally with left-wing Quebecois separatists?

Sym (shmuel), Thursday, 3 June 2004 04:27 (twenty-two years ago)

i got the same, 100% score for layton. harper had all of 6%.

dyson (dyson), Thursday, 3 June 2004 13:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I got 100% for Layton and surprise, surprise, 90% for Duceppe, 67% for Martin and 0% for Harper. Gosh, looking at their last names like that, it sort of looks like some Borsht Belt comedy team.
Pree-zenting the high-larious antics of the worst waiter in the world, Martin Harper, and his dashing friend, Layton Duceppe.

Huk-L, Thursday, 3 June 2004 13:39 (twenty-two years ago)

My Martin-levels were around 25%. Of course, there were one or two questions that I had to give "no answer" to. I have no idea whether elections should be on a regular day -- it's seems cute the way it is! But that's not a good enough reason for keeping it that way blah blah blah. But it's not something I've given much thought to.

Casuistry (Chris P), Thursday, 3 June 2004 13:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I went for strongly support no fixed election date, because, while it does provide the ruling party with a slight edge, it also limits election campaigns to about five weeks, whereas in the USA they seem to start about five minutes after the ballots close.

Huk-L, Thursday, 3 June 2004 13:49 (twenty-two years ago)

100% Layton as well. Paul was third with 52 and shock gasp horror, Harper with 14. But I hate all three of them right now.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 3 June 2004 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

If you're into guns, drugs and abortions and have no preference about anything else, vote Conservative

dave q, Thursday, 3 June 2004 15:11 (twenty-two years ago)

drugs and abortion¿

dyson (dyson), Thursday, 3 June 2004 15:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Surprised the hell out of me too! Don't worry, it's not like I'm bothering to vote

dave q, Thursday, 3 June 2004 15:16 (twenty-two years ago)

dave q so when Canada invades another country we can blame you?

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 3 June 2004 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

So i could theoretically get high by sucking my own dick? (breaks spine)

dave q, Thursday, 3 June 2004 15:22 (twenty-two years ago)

you'll have to remove some ribs before you break your spine

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 3 June 2004 15:24 (twenty-two years ago)

dave i think the conservative want to make abortions harder to get. although they have no solid platform (on anything really) they have said they wanted "mandatory counseling" which i think is a solid forecast of what their future policy will be.

dyson (dyson), Thursday, 3 June 2004 15:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I think there should be "mandatory counselling" before you buy a gun.

Huk-L, Thursday, 3 June 2004 15:39 (twenty-two years ago)

or vote Conservative, for that matter.

Huk-L, Thursday, 3 June 2004 15:40 (twenty-two years ago)

also: harper was outspoken about decriminalization of pot too, seemingly because the americans were making such a big stink about it. again, i did some searching and couldn't find much on current policy.

if you have any links, dave, that show he's flip-flopped on this issue please post them. thanks.

dyson (dyson), Thursday, 3 June 2004 15:43 (twenty-two years ago)

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 3 June 2004 15:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Whoops! I did the whole test again the exact same except changed the bits about not wanting to pay any taxes ever, and now I should vote either NDP or Bloc! This voting thing is fun! How many times do I get to do it in the real one?

dave q, Thursday, 3 June 2004 15:57 (twenty-two years ago)

hey dave! long time no see

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Thursday, 3 June 2004 15:58 (twenty-two years ago)

and i'm currently living in such a solidly NDP neighbourhood i'm considering squandering my vote on the green party

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Thursday, 3 June 2004 16:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Prisoners can vote now!

Huk-L, Thursday, 3 June 2004 16:42 (twenty-two years ago)

More on Harper/abortions, but its just going to be like the provincal Liberals all over again. Gawd, do all the parties suck extra special ass this time or what.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 3 June 2004 16:45 (twenty-two years ago)

it's the same with the iraq issue. even more loathsome behavior inho.

dyson (dyson), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey Fritz, hi! Where are you actually living in the city now? Are you in Jack's riding too?

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 3 June 2004 18:43 (twenty-two years ago)
