Hamza won promotion in 1981 after a fortuitious takeover so he's had a good run. I think the fans got fed up with the promises of success and triumph, but it always seemed impossible to satisfy them after glory of eras past - a spell in Europe is usually enough for most. Perhaps some felt he had sold his soul and it was all about the money. The real problem has been the injuries which has really dented the credibility of the team and turned him into a bit of a joke figure. Actually he should totally take the Liverpool job.
