...and does it get harder to cope with as you get older? Is the severity of the Thursday suici-dum related to the quality of the pill?

At the moment I honestly feeling like slicing my own face off. Or someone elses.

What's the worst you've ever felt and the what's the best way to deal with it?

mickey t (Huey), Thursday, 27 May 2004 12:49 (twenty-two years ago)

(1) Stop doing it, obviously.

mickey t (Huey), Thursday, 27 May 2004 12:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Ecstasy is sooooo 90's. 2C-I!

To be fair, I didn't say what pills they were. But while we're on it, how do you make 2C-I?

mickey t (Huey), Thursday, 27 May 2004 12:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Lager.

Thursday! Back in the day we had Blue Tuesday < / ex-clubby bore>

2 Ci has a much higher hallucinogenic content than ecstasy. I'd watch yourself though, because the active compound in a lot of 2Ci is PMA rather than MDMA or MDA. MDMA and MDA are obviously toxic, but not especially, wheras it's possible to overdose from around 3-4 pills based around PMA.

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 27 May 2004 13:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Wait a second, I'm buying 2C-I from a laboratory supply company, should I worry?

Be sure to Loop! Loop, Loop, Loop. (ex machina), Thursday, 27 May 2004 13:59 (twenty-two years ago)

On a more practical level...
You need massive amounts of vitmin C, especially if you smoke, so citrus fruits and supplements.
Also thiami and vitamin B are supposed to make your brain chemistry more normal after big weekends. You can find both in marmite and most breakfast cereals.

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 27 May 2004 13:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Should say thiamin not thiami above.

Not sure Loop. I got most of this info from various toxicologists whilst writing about it. The samples they had collected were mainly European. I'm not a chemist, I'm just repeating what they've told me. I'd look into it.

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 27 May 2004 14:02 (twenty-two years ago)

PMA's been found recently in a lot of what's being sold as ecstasy too. See also 2CB and 2CT7.

And for God's sake don't mix, esp. with cocaine (both ecstasy and the 2 family). It's the overheating thing. Coke makes you much hotter. Ecstasy ups your heat tolerance. Mix with diruetics like caffine or alcohol and it could get nasty.

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 27 May 2004 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Anna, yea, antioxidents help a lot

Be sure to Loop! Loop, Loop, Loop. (ex machina), Thursday, 27 May 2004 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Green tea.

I don't want to sound like I'm scaremongering, I've been there etc. But after writing about this kind of thing for years and a very sad personal experience I'd just advise caution as much as possible.

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 27 May 2004 14:09 (twenty-two years ago)

uh i always figured it was *tuesday*?!?

jesus nathalie (nathalie), Thursday, 27 May 2004 14:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I normally get it wednesday, I deal with it by trying to go out for the evening or basically doing anything which means you are not at home alone, on ILX.

The worst I ever felt, I think, was either the Sunday at Glastonbury last year, for an hour or two during the Streets show I wanted to murder everyone who so much as bumped into me. Or else perhaps August 2002 or so, doing a shit job and going 24 hour clubbing every weekend. I remember driving home from work one day and systematically thinking about all the bad things in my life, and how desperate each one was.

I feel ok now, cos maybe I do drugs once a month or once every three weeks, which makes a big difference. Every week is just fucking nasty, also I find 4 week breaks remind you that it is possible to get up in the morning and not feel thick and depressed, that that is not normal.

Hence the drawbacks of the nights out seem more tangible, ie if I don't go out all night on Friday, I'll feel sharp and more friendly next week. I presume eventually this is why people give up drugs.

2-ci sounds fun, I may try it at Glastonbury this year. Or maybe not, I don't know. It's still legal in Ireland.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 27 May 2004 14:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays - it's horses for courses.

Is there anyone who doesn't feel like shit for the next week and doesn't understand what all the depressing fuss is about?

mickey t (Huey), Thursday, 27 May 2004 14:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't for ages really. I think it took me months of doing drugs before I felt a comedown, possibly because I enjoyed it so much at first I'd just keep thinking about how great the night was, and also by Thursday you could look forward to the next Saturday. Though I know some people who have done it once and said the comedown was so bad they never wanted to again.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 27 May 2004 14:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Me! But then I have never taken pills and probably never will. Instead I watch Spun and think drugs are like a Jonas Akerlund movie. ;-)

jesus nathalie (nathalie), Thursday, 27 May 2004 14:25 (twenty-two years ago)

i never came down too hard from the stuff but i never (in my opinion) went overboard on my weekends. & wanting to kill the world was always normal for me anyhow.

dyson (dyson), Thursday, 27 May 2004 14:25 (twenty-two years ago)

When I used to take half a pill I never had this problem, but of course a half is never enough these days.

Chewshabadoo (Chewshabadoo), Thursday, 27 May 2004 14:31 (twenty-two years ago)

everything's a binge with the youth of today.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 27 May 2004 14:34 (twenty-two years ago)

i quit pilling a few years ago for this very reason. the more i did, the harder and longer the recovery period became. these days, unless it's a very special occasion, it hardly seems worth the trade.

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 27 May 2004 14:55 (twenty-two years ago)

a half is never enough these days

It's that slippery slope son...

Huey (Huey), Thursday, 27 May 2004 15:02 (twenty-two years ago)

who ever does a half? i used to do 2-4 as a rule. maybe that was the problem?

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 27 May 2004 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

2-4 "as a rule"?

Wow, I like even that there are rules.

I took 11 in one night once, in a Brian Harvey ape style. But in a way it was a good thing to do as it made me realise just how... just how... no, it's gone.

mickey t (Huey), Thursday, 27 May 2004 15:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Charlie's miracle comedown cure:

1. Orange juice, preferably fresh and with bits in, definitely a litre at least.

2. Chicken, in any form you prefer: as part of a full-on roast dinner, Kentucky fried, in a burger, whatever. Just chicken.

3. Very very pathetically low-tar cigarettes like Silk Cut ultra.

4. Nurofen or preferably Migraleve, or if you're feeling brave, Feminax. The latter is fucking amazing.

5. Use all of the above out of your house, not at home festering in a heap in the corner of the sofa.

6. Swing on some swings.

7. Go to bed.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Thursday, 27 May 2004 15:15 (twenty-two years ago)

is 2ci legal in the uk?

charltonlido (gareth), Thursday, 27 May 2004 15:16 (twenty-two years ago)

i totally feel like shit for days afterwards, but i've never quite got the soul-searching depression that other people report. most of my friends get this occasionally, and it's not even like i'm a much happier person than they are! i don't get it.

pete b. (pete b.), Thursday, 27 May 2004 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah I never got what I'd describe as soul searching depression, just sort of gloom, sometimes it's ok. The lack of sleep must have a fairly big impact too.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 27 May 2004 15:40 (twenty-two years ago)

"soul searching depression" sounds eerily accurate. i stay away.

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 27 May 2004 15:46 (twenty-two years ago)

i have a friend who (at 20 fucking 7ยก) has started doing chems recently and does them often and in large amounts. the idiot doesn't listen to me when i tell him there are weird permanent effects. i worry about him. i never used to grind my teeth. sometimes i literally feel sick to my stomach sometimes when i think about how fucked up i've gotten in the past.

dyson (dyson), Thursday, 27 May 2004 15:58 (twenty-two years ago)

What I've found recently is that on a day I know I'm going to be doing something that evening, I start to get rushes and black clouds and the runs before I've actually taken anything, as though there's a psychological / psychosematic link that my brain understand's it's a Saturday and is saying oh god no here we go again, or similar.

mickey t (Huey), Thursday, 27 May 2004 16:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Jesus that sounds awful!

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 27 May 2004 16:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you not get that?

God I sound like a right pillhead. I only do them about once every two months. The panic attacks at night get too much otherwise.

mickey t (Huey), Thursday, 27 May 2004 16:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I should really stop doing them, right?

mickey t (Huey), Thursday, 27 May 2004 16:07 (twenty-two years ago)

If you're not enjoying yourself!

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 27 May 2004 16:08 (twenty-two years ago)

i still get pretty vivid rushes when i listen to house music sometimes. it's not fun.

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 27 May 2004 16:09 (twenty-two years ago)

What do you mean by vivid rushes?

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 27 May 2004 16:46 (twenty-two years ago)

one year passes...

...i had the worst comedown i've ever had yesterday.

the. worst. ever. by a mile.

Itsthere, Tuesday, 14 February 2006 15:39 (twenty years ago)

This happens to me sometimes. I'm glad to say I only do class-A's about once every two or three months now anyway. Glad I managed to try 2-Ci before it disappeared off the market.

Vintage Latin (dog latin), Tuesday, 14 February 2006 15:50 (twenty years ago)

Comedowns do just keep getting worse and worse. And so does the high. It'll reach a point before too long when it's just not worth it.

chap who would dare to be completely sober on the internet (chap), Tuesday, 14 February 2006 15:52 (twenty years ago)

Oh yeh, and I may as well repost my miracle cure:

BEFORE you do anything, take Magnesium tablets to stop you biting yr own face off. Just before the comedown, take some 5-HTP and have a bong/spliff. Drink grapefruit juice and eat a banana - be careful you don't upset your stomach though. It's important to eat even if you don't feel like it. A mars bar is always good as it has a lot of glucose. Vitamin B and C are also good. Take 5-HTP once/twice a day if you still feel lousy. Make sure you get out the house the following day and chat to people cos no-one ever did theyselves any favours moping indoors.

Vintage Latin (dog latin), Tuesday, 14 February 2006 15:54 (twenty years ago)

Drinking lots of booze is by far the best cure.

chap who would dare to be completely sober on the internet (chap), Tuesday, 14 February 2006 15:55 (twenty years ago)

BEFORE you do anything..
______________________________

u mean after though right Vintage?

Itsthere, Tuesday, 14 February 2006 15:57 (twenty years ago)

before. it takes a couple of hours to take effect so i take magnesium 1-2 hrs before going out.

booze is good for the following night.

Vintage Latin (dog latin), Tuesday, 14 February 2006 16:00 (twenty years ago)

5-HTP is a godsend though.

Vintage Latin (dog latin), Tuesday, 14 February 2006 16:00 (twenty years ago)
