Things I didn't know about Hal Foster: He lived 100 years. He was Canadian. He was, at one point, a gold prospector. Huh.

(I don't really have much to say about him, I guess. When I was a kid, I really liked my dad's big bound collections of the early Prince Valiant stuff. I know some people think his art is kind of lifeless -- pretty but static. I guess so. It is pretty, though. And some of the early story arcs had zing.)
