Obscure hardware question: I need a standard faucet adapter that is female on both ends

Does anyone know where I can find such a pervy female-female adapter? I've been to two hardware stores, plus Home Depot, as well as doing a quick online search. So far I am not finding one anywhere.

What male to male connection do you have? That's a weird bit of hardware.

The truth is actually pretty prosaic.

andy, when I take the aerator off the faucet, there's a male end. I need to connect that to a water treatment systems hook-up which also has a male end (or whatever the terminology is).

I'm not very good with hardware, I just know what I need. (Haha.)

Still looking for this. This is the last major move-related problem I have to solve, Insh'Allah.

that is weird, usually water purifiers come with a variety of little adaptors. Maybe you could go scouting in the boxes at the hardware store for something that will fit. Not that I recommend stealing. Not at all.

(x-post) This came with adapters but none of them work. The hardware stores don't have what I need. I have an e-mail in to the manufacturer--finally.

what kind of purifier is this so I know to never buy it?

kyle (akmonday), Sunday, 20 June 2004 02:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I hesitate to say: Amway. It's actually a very good water purifier. The list of hazardous or suspect chemicals that it removes is quite impressive. The difference in taste is noticeable. Of course, the company problem spends some of the profits on lobbying to eliminate enivronmental regulations, but you can't have it all. I was an Amway distributor briefly as a confused recent college graduate.

The problem might be the faucet (which says "Moen" and "Chalet") more than the water treatment system. Most aerators have a male end that screws into the faucet. This aerator has a female end, and the faucet has a male end.
