i once emailed someone to apologize and try to end some somewhat nasty exchanges taking place on ilx, hoping we could mend things offboard so the rest of ilx wouldn't have to suffer through our catfight. this backfired when the poster began to make fun of me, on board, for having apologized to him. classy.

This is my favorite thing that people who don't know shit about California say. They learn to say it from watching TV, and then they go there, and they see a palm tree and they're like "omg it's so superficial!" and then they go to Johnny Rocket's and get served a cheeseburger and they're like "haw haw, it's so superficial here!" and then they go to sleep that night and when the alarm clock rings the next morning it sounds somehow more superficial to them than the same clock would sound at home

I have. I sent him a thank-you email when I was producing the Sh***kuma record. Between the artist not even being in the country and the label not telling me what they wanted I was tearing my hair out, one of the things that kept me sane was listening to The Philosophy Of and Voyager on heavy rotation. I got a very nice response.
