That Black Sheep Ale is filthy - I couldn't even drink it.

Old Speckled Hen, especially on tap, is lovely, as is Leffe Blonde - both are available in my sainsburys, which'll do me. There's also some special Hoegaarden on sale, which is very good indeed.

As for lagers, avoid Grolsch, drink Singha. I also prefer Heineken out of the big five corporate lagers.

Hmm, maybe I've been lucky with taps. There's also the fact that I'll often start a session with a Hen, then move onto inferior, weaker/cheaper beers, so it gets the benefit of being both the gorgeous first taste, and the highest quality of the evening.

There's a premium bottled version called Hen's Tooth which is very nice too.

OMG oops, Anderson Valley makes some of the sickest, most awesome beers in the country -- try their ESB and their Amber Ale! They make miracles, no lie.

I just polished off a bottle of Kastell brown ale (a deliciously malty and sweet Belgian) -- at 11% alcohol, I'm given to a bit of hyperbole right now. Forgive meh!
