So blood, blood .. ow .. yeah, that's all over with, except that my fingernail is sure to fall off in the next few weeks..
It's the crushing of the finger that still hurts. And it's still tingly-numb. After 5 days, is it normal for it to still be numb? (I still have feeling in it, but it's a weird, tingly feeling.) lil bit swollen too. But it feels a little better every day.
Maybe you're not a doctor, but you play one on the internet?

Other than that; tylenol, ice and the amazing regenerative properties of the human body is all I've got.

If you can't get to a doctor, here's what you can do to relieve the swelling caused by blood under the nail (if that is indeed a problem): heat the end of a straightened paperclip in a flame and use it to carefully make a hole in the top of the nail. Don't go down too far and burn the nailbed. Since the nail is coming off anyway, it won't matter. Drain the blood wash, put on an anti-bacterial cream and bandage it. Wait for gangrene to set in because you wouldn't go get a proper X-ray.

I've been soaking it in cold epsom salt solution which has helped to clean it & maybe reduce the swelling ..
The numbness - it kind of feels like I have dried glue on my finger or something .. I think it's just a really really fucking deep bruise & it should get better over time. I really can't get to a doctorb, but I'll certainly keep an eye on it.
Imagine slamming your finger in a door (really hard) .. it doesn't seem bad enough to see a doctor over. And it doesn't really hurt anymore - it just feels weird..
And I can always count on Dan for a samrtass answer .. and anyone on ILE to provide a simpsons reference ...
