Just out of curiosity, for those of you Special People who have received invitations to distribute, how long did you have to wait before Google sent you any? Were you using your Gmail address a lot (i.e. do you have to have a lot of traffic on it to qualify)? and how many invitations were you sent?

Jen got some invites early on, invited me, and then she got 5 more invites before she'd even used up her first batch. (I can't remember if she got 3 or 5 the first time.)

I got 3 invites shortly after getting my account. (At that point I'd sent maybe 2 emails with it.)

Since then I've used my account a decent amount, but no more invites for me. Jen has hardly used her account at all.

The only theory I can come up with is that the number you get has to do with how far removed you are from an "original" user, because my experience and other's reports don't seem to indicate that account use or time has anything to do with it.

CJ there's no link at the top of yr inbox that say "invite a friend" or something like that? I started with 3, think I got 2 more at some point, and I expect/hope to get more now that I've used up the ones I had including wasting one on an email address that isn't actually valid thank you Mr Hex Enduction :)

How long of a lag is there between someone inviting you and actually receiving the invite? Does it go through Google first (i.e. indicating some kind of lag time), or should I have received it immediately? Because last night on the other thread Edward O said he was gonna send me an invite and I never received anything. Hmmm. Edward are you here?

I got my invite almost immediately after it was sent, but it's an email, so I suppose it's always possible it could be delayed just like email sometimes is.

Wow - Rosemary that's actually a huge huge help! Thanks! I bet that's what happened. I have my Yahoo set to immediately delete everything that would normally get placed in 'Bulk'. Because I get so much damn spam, and I was close to quota before they upped it this past week.

and it worked for me from hotmail, with some trickery
(start by cutting & pasting link - then after set up don't believe if it keeps saying it hasn't gone through - eventually it said someone else (me, of course) had already set it up)
