I mean, /terrible/. I've had it for like six months, I guess I can probably win an even match on three stars. But in the master league I just get whopped so hard it hurts. I can scrape a nil nil draw, occasionally (I only ever seem to concede goals from headers somehow), but I just /can't/ score, and even Azul kick my ass mostly.

PRO EVO MASTERS - have you tips? I am despairin'.

(Has this been asked before? This game seems to have like 37481 names)

Gregory Henry (Gregory Henry), Friday, 18 June 2004 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Play as France and only play shitty clubs from like Slovakia or whatever.

N. to thread.

It's still all better than FIFA, which is so easy (on any setting) that you can consistently have a defender dribble up the field and score with very little effort.

adam (adam), Friday, 18 June 2004 16:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay! I just had a real bash at it, I'm getting somewhere, buying a good keeper seems to really, really help. We beat Azul 2-0, my first ever master league win, it was great.

Gregory Henry (Gregory Henry), Friday, 18 June 2004 17:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm shit at all football games, except sensible soccer on the Amiga, which I was OK at. Suits me fine - I take the girly option and ignore football as much as possible.

i've never gotten a handle on the master league mode - especially in regards to transfers and all that. i can hold my own when playing for the world cup, but that master league mode is a whole different story.

metfigga (metfigga), Friday, 18 June 2004 18:26 (twenty-two years ago)

learn to use R2 and you'll beat everyone. EVERYONE.

anytime you change direction sharply when dribbling, press R2, just kind of tap it on and off all the time with good players as they get the ball and swivel, or as you want to shimmy past someone. I use it so much it's sort of instinctive and I can't say exactly what I do but I know it works.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 18 June 2004 19:38 (twenty-two years ago)

ronan otm w. the 'instinctive and can't exactly say what to do'. it's a feel thing, I think. try r1+r2 to pull players off their 'rails'. learn how to use this (just bash about with it, eventually you'll figure out it's uses.)

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 18 June 2004 20:33 (twenty-two years ago)

also learn how to successfully round the keeper instead of shooting in one on one situations where you're face to face with him and don't have a great angle.

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 19 June 2004 17:08 (twenty-two years ago)

also, 'training' isn't useless.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 19 June 2004 17:09 (twenty-two years ago)

there's no substitute for match practice.

playing humans /= playing the computer, as well, obv.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 19 June 2004 17:10 (twenty-two years ago)

LEAVE ME ALONE YOU STUPID COMPUTER GAME.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 19 June 2004 17:11 (twenty-two years ago)

learn to lob the keeper for extra demoralisation against humans.

Ronan (Ronan), Saturday, 19 June 2004 17:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow, the r2 advice is ridiculously useful, I didn't even realise that there was a button there. Thanks guys!

Gregory Henry (Gregory Henry), Monday, 21 June 2004 22:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I got FIFA instead of this. I am finding the gameplay very repetitive and I can't figure out any of the "tricks" to get round players and unlock defenses which is very frustrating. So every game involves a lot of passing which is nod bad thing, but I want FLAIR.

What is this called in the US again?

if there ever is a ilx meetup, pro ev 3 has to be the pivot round which it revolves.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 21 June 2004 22:14 (twenty-two years ago)

if only ps2 supports internet play

ken c (ken c), Monday, 21 June 2004 22:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Surely it's only a matter of time.
