cinniblount (James Blount), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:36 (twenty-two years ago)

that doesn't really make anything clearer to me.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:39 (twenty-two years ago)

So is this thread supposed to be the Cliff Notes to that one or what?

martin m. (mushrush), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:40 (twenty-two years ago)

yes, please. thank you.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:41 (twenty-two years ago)

There's a summary of the thread here.

Momus (Momus), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:42 (twenty-two years ago)

JOhn: WTF Ned?
NEd: Well you know...
Momus: Vice = good!!
Everyone else = not again Momus!
Momus: Lemme explain.
Everyone: Okay.
Momus: Blah blah blah.
Everyone: We disagree!!
Momus: Fools!
Everyone: Bastard!
Mandee: Avril has hot lips!
Everyone: Momus, we oughta...
Momus: Why'd the U.S. do anything post 9/11?

Gear! (Gear!), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:42 (twenty-two years ago)

More Bukkake!

Professor Sleazeball (AaronHz), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:43 (twenty-two years ago)

what was on the avril thread?

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:44 (twenty-two years ago)

would you bang her if she was drunk, she looks like a rodent of some sort, Calum's friend who they thought was Calum had a big head, Avril has a big head etc.

Professor Sleazeball (AaronHz), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:46 (twenty-two years ago)

so why was it locked?

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:47 (twenty-two years ago)

The Avril thread was Calum saying "Avril is hot, I'd hit it", in his normal ever-inventive way, and then a bunch of posters being all "Look, go home, really" in kinda catty and not hugely amusing ways. And him talking it alright. And then it got locked.

Gregory Henry (Gregory Henry), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:48 (twenty-two years ago)

First person to start a thread about this thread wins the booby prize.

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:48 (twenty-two years ago)

so why was it locked?

That is what The Locking of the Avril Thread tries to address with limited success.

x Jeremy (Atila the Honeybun), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:50 (twenty-two years ago)

As far as I can tell, right now "the locking" is about the ethics of trolling and troll/blocking. Momus is making a completely indefensible point in which he compares them to Milton's Satan, but he's on really good punning form.

Gregory Henry (Gregory Henry), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:50 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, thanks. might as well lock this one up then too.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I think Andrew just said, "This thread is really stupid." and then locked it. Nothing special.

AaronHz (AaronHz), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:51 (twenty-two years ago)

CULMINATION

bill stevens (bscrubbins), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Sean Thomas (sgthomas), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:52 (twenty-two years ago)

might as well lock this one up then too.

post enought Bukkake and I'm sure they will.

Professor Sleazeball (AaronHz), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:52 (twenty-two years ago)

What is "wtf: 'the locking of the avril thread'?" about?

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:56 (twenty-two years ago)

we are metastatising.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 18 June 2004 22:59 (twenty-two years ago)

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 19 June 2004 00:14 (twenty-two years ago)

But if you scramble it and include an 'f' you get an odd approximation.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 19 June 2004 00:14 (twenty-two years ago)

ned go download that petey pablo track that sounds like disco inferno already

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 19 June 2004 00:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 19 June 2004 00:16 (twenty-two years ago)

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 19 June 2004 00:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 19 June 2004 00:18 (twenty-two years ago)

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 19 June 2004 00:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Bother. But I will keep in mind. In the meantime, why is everyone talking about Los Lonely Boys all of a sudden?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 19 June 2004 00:21 (twenty-two years ago)

they are teh suck

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 19 June 2004 00:23 (twenty-two years ago)

They're playing here tonight for whatever reason.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 19 June 2004 00:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I should have noted my worries when my boss talked about how they were 'Stevie Ray-like.' I took that under advisement.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 19 June 2004 00:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Um, Gear! -- I think I said Avril has NOT HOT LIPS.

Revise the script!!

Homosexual Part Deux, Saturday, 19 June 2004 01:27 (twenty-two years ago)

God, I just now finished reading that goddamned thread from the start. Friday Night, we hardly knew ye.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 19 June 2004 01:37 (twenty-two years ago)

You are extremely patient!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 19 June 2004 01:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I am extremely interested! That thread IS ILX omgwtf

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 19 June 2004 01:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Yay!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 19 June 2004 01:39 (twenty-two years ago)

roxy, grab yourself some alky... you deserve it!

x Jeremy (Atila the Honeybun), Saturday, 19 June 2004 01:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Hmm, beverages. A fine idea.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 19 June 2004 01:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, I'm hitting the hay. To sleep, perchance to dream of Edinburghian trolls, anti-semitic literature, and the moist, barnacled underbelly of ILX.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 19 June 2004 01:41 (twenty-two years ago)

On second thought I'm staying up.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 19 June 2004 01:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Choices, choices.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 19 June 2004 01:41 (twenty-two years ago)

speaking of gilgameshian epics, roxymuzak... keep your eyes wide and peeled towards the sun...

x Jeremy (Atila the Honeybun), Saturday, 19 June 2004 01:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I think the real question at hand should be "Momus: Would you hit that shit or what?"

Homosexual Part Deux, Saturday, 19 June 2004 01:53 (twenty-two years ago)

He would say: "You taste like hamburger -- I don't like you anymore".

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Saturday, 19 June 2004 02:20 (twenty-two years ago)

He's obviously writing in his gournal right now.

Homosexual II, Saturday, 19 June 2004 05:36 (twenty-two years ago)

There was an Avril thread? I don't like her new album that much.

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 19 June 2004 17:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I like how in her new video God realizes she's too fragile for this world and lets her ascend to heaven.

CeCe Peniston (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 19 June 2004 17:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Why is the pop world conspiring to make me miss Fiona Apple? This, all this, is bullshit.

CeCe Peniston (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 19 June 2004 17:29 (twenty-two years ago)

If you give into the pop world this is the price you pay.

As for that Petey Pablo song, it's pretty good!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 19 June 2004 17:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned, speaking of Spanish names, I mailed the CD-Rs today. (And nobody complain, because I offered them to the entire world, but only Ned wanted them.)

Rockist Scientist (rockistscientist), Saturday, 19 June 2004 20:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Rah! Thanks very much.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 19 June 2004 21:14 (twenty-two years ago)

seven months pass...
Hahaha. Drooling over Avril.

For Shame....
