A seagull nicked my icecream once. This is true. I was in St Ives a year ago, it flew at me from behind, knocked me on the shoulder, i turned around, and when I turned back, I saw it flying off with my icecream in its beak.

But Adam Harper, spokesman for the Scottish RSPB, blamed the killer gulls on people dropping litter.

Root causes, people! How stupid was letting loose a small falcon in this environment? And now they want to 'cull' (read: eradicate) the seagulls? The seagulls were only reacting to circumstance!
