Obviously, classic.

Randleman's slam on Fedor -- more classic than Rampage's slam on Arona.

Dud. I think I'm a martial arts rockist.

Oh wait, I had some confusiton there. Are you talking about nu-martial arts constructed from bits and pieces of others solely for the purpose of kicking ass, or are you talking about fighting different styles against each other? The first I don't like but the second is awesome.

Also does anyone else still hold on to the romantic notion that old school martial arts masters (sort've like Pai Mei, you know?) exist and could easily wipe the floor with the guys from UFC et al but just don't choose to lower themselves to that level?

Mainly the second, but I'm a proponent of crosstraining. Limiting oneself to just one art is not a good idea. Keeps people from being limited in any field is not a positive thing, no matter what.

I think its a romantic notion, but I wouldn't hold it too close. I'm sure Yong Sool Choi never had to deal with a olympic wrestler shooting in for a double leg.

That Barnett/Noguiera match was amazing.

Yes, it was. I still never figured out why Barnett tapped out vs. Cro-cop.

Pride has the best fighters right now, hands down. That and no silly cage.

It looked to me like he thought he had an eye injury.

And yeah - the bigger money in Japan draws better talent. You may have also heard the rumors that it's plagued by organized crime involvement, too (another side effect of big money.) Which might account for some of those strange endings to matches.
