RFI: Anyone heard of a comic artist called 'Benny Wrightson'?

My web searches are drawing a blank and I'm running out of time.

Bernie Rightson? Benny Reitsen? Any similar-sounding names?

I may even be wrong about his discipline, but I presume (from context) that he works in comics.

Often written Berni, as I recall. Very influenced by old EC horror artist Graham Ingels.

I had a tiny influence on one Swamp Thing story! (I'm sure I've said this before here, but what the hell) I was talking to my good friend Alan Moore about Tom Waits, and specifically the song Burma-Shave, and it was out of this conversation that he put a little reference to same at the end of one issue, where there was a car crash.

He ignored my suggestion to give a cameo to great old soul singer Swamp Dogg (who I was on a soul list with for a while, as it happens).

Psst - Bissette & Totleben were the pencil / ink combo for most of Moore's Swamp Thing run; can't take one w/out the other (&, duh, I'll take them both). Tho I kinda miss ... the old Swamp Thing ... and the way ... he talked ... like that kid ... from Malcolm ... in the Middle ...

Looking @ this, one can perhaps maybe see the vague influence Ingels might have had on BW's art. Cough.

It's a S***n Of The D**d DVD extra - Simon P**g and Edgar W****t go through their flip chart for the film and a 3D arrow on one page looks very rock-like.

I actually had a signed Berni Wrightson print once! It was from his illustrated Frankenstein. I was a fan when i was a kid. As I said on an I Love Comics thread, he was the king of the cross-hatch. Some people don't like that kinda thing.
