I heard from Ken C. He said "I slept in 'til half ten today, so I'm still half an hour from the place. Oh, and I'm at this wonderful gas station that has food and everything!"

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 25 June 2004 17:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm presuming it dried up. It's a fairly nice day today.

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Friday, 25 June 2004 17:12 (twenty-one years ago)

stevem told me to post his predictions to the euro 04 predictions thread

charltonlido (gareth), Friday, 25 June 2004 17:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey, if you wish you were at Glasto you call Ken C and live vicariously through his cell phone, FYI.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 25 June 2004 17:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey, if you wish you were at Glasto you CAN call Ken C and live vicariously through his cell phone, FYI.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 25 June 2004 17:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I can only imagine the conversation!

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Friday, 25 June 2004 17:49 (twenty-one years ago)

My phone just rang and it was none other than Basement Jaxx, live from Glasto. It is times like these that I am in love with the modern world.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 26 June 2004 21:21 (twenty-one years ago)

It's times like this that I'm pissed off with my modern world.

I am not a mandible (Barima), Saturday, 26 June 2004 21:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I got paul mccartney's JET, via nick's telephone, just half an hour ago.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 26 June 2004 21:29 (twenty-one years ago)

no one that has texted me is any shape to be sending messages.

lauren (laurenp), Saturday, 26 June 2004 21:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha, I got two drunk-ass Glasto messages on my machine last night -- a "response to a personal ad" (that one made my boyfriend not at all skeptical) and a "detergent survery." It's that classic pear cider/careless attitude toward elephantine mobile bills combo for you, kids!

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 26 June 2004 21:43 (twenty-one years ago)

now LIVE AND LET DIE!

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 26 June 2004 22:01 (twenty-one years ago)

The Jaxx set sounded fab.

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Saturday, 26 June 2004 22:55 (twenty-one years ago)

i sent some messages to those fuckfaces. they dont deserve it though. i bet there is not enough UR to make it worthwhile anyway

charltonlido (gareth), Saturday, 26 June 2004 22:58 (twenty-one years ago)

The Killers just did their 80s Karaoke slot on BBC 2, it is hard to believe they are American - when in reality they should be from somewhere like Wigan or Stockport.

DJ Martian (djmartian), Saturday, 26 June 2004 23:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I think I just heard Belle and Sebastian?

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Sunday, 27 June 2004 17:52 (twenty-one years ago)

were they sniffing?

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 27 June 2004 19:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Are the Pixies playing? I wish someone would call me up and play the Pixies.

I saw Franz Ferdinand on the tv screen at the gym the other day. I didn't have headphones, so I couldn't hear them.

I have not heard from anyone, personally, that you and I know.

sgs (sgs), Sunday, 27 June 2004 19:22 (twenty-one years ago)

isn't mark c there?

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 27 June 2004 20:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Carsmile txtd me to say that Mick Cooke looked fucking cool in his shades.

I bet Carsmile also looks dead cool in his wellies.

Mooro (Mooro), Sunday, 27 June 2004 20:18 (twenty-one years ago)

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Monday, 28 June 2004 04:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Lixi told me B&S were 'ok' and that Moz was 'labouring his way through Rusholme Ruffians'; I think the adjacent tent singing Paranoid Android at 3am has affected her mood.

Orbital sounded good on the telly.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Monday, 28 June 2004 06:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I watched an hour of it on the telly. A little bird told me that Delays would be on, but it was a damned lie, and I had to sit through Belle and Suckasstian to find this out. :-(

He wants to be me (kate), Monday, 28 June 2004 07:41 (twenty-one years ago)

'Cept for the divine Lauren Laverne, the TV coverage could have dated from any time after 1993. Flashbacky.

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 28 June 2004 07:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Ooh, I forgot about Lauren in the helichopter. I kept getting mixed up with Extreme Archeology and thinking she was studying some remote dig in the Somerset countryside "why, here we see evidence of an advanced hippie civilisation... no, we still haven't explained all the silly hats."

He wants to be me (kate), Monday, 28 June 2004 07:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I kept madly wavering between wishing I was there and being very glad I wasn't.

Wishing I was there: Orbital, Chemicals, a bunch of stuff on Jazzworld, James Brown.

Glad I wasn't: the sheer number of Oasis fans, even the BBC presenters remarking on how hard it was to move around the site, the rain and the mud.

We got a single plaintive text from Andrew F on Friday, wondering if we knew if it was forecast to keep chucking it down for the rest of the weekend.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Monday, 28 June 2004 07:54 (twenty-one years ago)

we got a text from Stevem saying that Basment Jaxx, were not in fact crap and were actually very good. We disagreed.

chris (chris), Monday, 28 June 2004 07:56 (twenty-one years ago)

I went in '98 and this looked like child's play in comparison. But what was up with all the England flags...?

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 28 June 2004 08:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I have seen a bit of Oasis and a lot of Paul McCartney on TV. And two songs from Morrissey.

They were much better than the DJs presenting the programme.

the bellefox, Monday, 28 June 2004 08:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Did John Peel ever catch Paul McCartney?

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 28 June 2004 08:56 (twenty-one years ago)

it looked roundly awful. it is glastonbury, I suppose.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 28 June 2004 09:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Did John Peel ever catch Paul McCartney?

I'm not sure, but I think that the bellefox has a far worse case of it anyway.

Mooro (Mooro), Monday, 28 June 2004 11:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Yippee.

Peel lacks taste?

the bellefox, Monday, 28 June 2004 12:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Possibly now, but he did use to play them in the late 60's/early 70's.

Mooro (Mooro), Monday, 28 June 2004 13:17 (twenty-one years ago)
