Dale Earnhardt Jr. sez "See F 9/11"

From Eschaton/Atrios:

Dale Earnhardt., Jr. tells his pit crew to go see Michael Moore's movie. From the freepi:

Verbatim from Chris Myers (Fox Sports announcer) on today's race at Pomona pre-race program..

"You think you know Dale Earnhardt Jr.? He advised his crew to go see the Michael Moore movie Farenheit 911. He said hey, it'll be a good bonding experience no matter what your political belief. It's a good thing as an American to go see... and it just shows you that Dale Earnhardt Jr. can reach far beyond the steering wheel."

...where "freepi" = Free Republic messageboards. Unfortunately, it appears the hysterical rantin' n' ravin' thread has been deleted. Does anybody have the location of a cached copy?

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Monday, 28 June 2004 16:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I have it saved.

..., Monday, 28 June 2004 16:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Possible to cut and paste here? How long is it?

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Monday, 28 June 2004 17:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Not long. As I said, if a mod allows it, I can put it up here.
I'm just concerned about the copyright thing, and the mods might be even more concerned. So.

..., Monday, 28 June 2004 17:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd look at the copyright rules on the source site before posting (otherwise I don't really care).

MODERATOR (Dan Perry), Monday, 28 June 2004 17:10 (twenty-one years ago)

They're not too vehement. Here it is. Instant deletion will be requested if they come complainin'.

..., Monday, 28 June 2004 17:28 (twenty-one years ago)

(haha wow they're pretty quiet!)

MODERATOR (Dan Perry), Monday, 28 June 2004 17:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Dale Earnhardt Jr wants blacklisted now? Say it ain't so!

Did you just hear them say that on Fox? that Dale Earnhardt Jr. says that, politics aside, everyone should see Farenheit 911?
What's up with that? Frankly, I expect better from Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Fox. I'm shocked, annoyed and irritated. They better take that one back. They don't know who they're messing with. We need to find out what's going on here. I am definitely pissed.

Like it or not, America is a free country. If Dale Jr. thinks everyone should see Michael Moore's crap, so be it. If he agrees with a hatriot like Moore it is his perrogative to do so. He must however face the consequences of making such a statement. Many people do not agree with him.

The Marine thread is developing that it might be a pakistani who works with the Marines that was taken.

I for one am glad I have NEVER been on the Earnhardt bandwagon...whether it was Sr. or Jr., I am a Ford man and a Dale Jarrett/Mark Martin fan. They both will remain my drivers until they retire. I just never have been a fan of this family no matter how much was accomplished.

Sr.'s death was sad and horrible but it didn't mean I had to become a fan of his kids. Hell no...I knew better. He is a punk.

Roscoe Turner supported and was a big part of the Indy Raceway after he left our little town, Corinth, Mississippi. Turner won just as many times as Jimmy Doolittle in Air races. Indy and Turner were tightly connected. Turner lived the rest of his life out at Indianapolis. I was lucky to have known his family.

I got nothing against Burt Reynolds, but his role in Smokey and the Bandit was bottom of the barrel + name-dropping the previous owner of your SUV is gay. Triple-gay if you own two identical SUVs. Sextuple-gay if the SUV you own two of is one of the really really unreasonably big ones, like the Hummer or the Expedition.
