How on earth do I reconfigure the router/persuade it that it should work? My ex-flatmate had this problem and he sorted it - why can't I, dammit!!
I've looked in Internet Options and Network Connections, but nothing seems to be giving me any useful options.
Nildram is my provider, it's a Windows XP computer. Can anyone help? I won't be able to look at this thread until tomorrow, but help gratefully accepted.
Thanks!

Your network settings in XP shouldn't have changed as a result of unplugging the router.
You can usually recycle a router by unplugging it or turning it off for about 30 seconds and then turning it back on. You might try doing that and then rebooting your PC to make sure the router's working correctly and hopefully coax XP to see it again.

So I have a Linksys router (http://www.amazon.com/Linksys-BEFW11S4-Wireless-B-Cable-Router/dp/B00005ARK3) that I use with my Powerbook and which, according to the tech support line, is OLD and no longer supported by their operators. However, I know it works fine because it has done for almost two years and it did so last week. My problem is that I have now moved and am now having to set it up again at my new place. And Linksys (Who do not like Macs anyway) will not help me do so. I know there has to be someone on ILX that might know how to do this. If you are out there, I will be forever in your debt.
Any takers?

if you need to reset it back to factory defaults, you stick a paper clip in some hole in the back for a while (like 30 secs).

I'm not great at this but isn't there a difference between forwarding ports and errr, getting your wireless router to work? I'm still stuck on the latter and I always struggled with portforward.
