I just started this new medication and the toes on my right foot have gone all white and I can't feel them, I've called my doctor but he isn't calling back does anyone have any tricks for increasing blood circulation?

please? I tried running them under cold water.
I don't want to have to amputate.

That really doesnt sound good - if it goes blue maybe go to another clinic or an emergency room? Try walking around the room to get the blood going maybe.

Ah they're back thank fuck
I put them in a warm bath and that helped. Thanks for the advice Trayce.
My doctor still hasn't gotten back to me which is disturbing, I'm glad there wasn't a real emergency

Yeah, if I called my doctor in a panic about weird side effects, and he didn't call me back, I'd be shopping for a new doctor!

Nellie - Id still follow this up with a doctor. Any meds causing a circulation problem is not a good sign, you dont want to risk blood clotting! See yr doc and let him know what happened!

(it might have been a coincidence... but best to be sure)

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 13 August 2004 04:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Well I don't think it's a coincidence cause it's never happened to me ever before in the world. and I was taking this cold medicine which had pseudoephedrine in it and i found out today that you're not meant to take pseudoephedrine with it even though I ASKED the pharmacist and he made me shout out to the world what I was taking. I'm glad it wasn't herpes medication or something.

I took sudafed with effexor once and I thought I was gonna have a fuckin heart attack, it gave me such an anxiety attack. Never again! Thatll learn me not to obey warnings on packs :/

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 13 August 2004 05:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Did you have trouble with anything else with Effexor, Trayce? I had a horrible reaction last week after drinking a bunch of grapefruit juice (I had no idea there'd been warnings issued about it!). Pseudoephedrine doesn't seem to bother me at all, nor does Flonase (thank fuck).

Bryan (Bryan), Friday, 13 August 2004 05:17 (twenty-one years ago)

effexors a nightmare though, that rips holes thru your stomach lining. I could feel my pulse going mental last night, my hands couldn't stop shaking and my pupils were so dilated i looked like a manga character.

I haven't had the stuff, but everyone I know who's been on effexor had horror stories about it. It sounds like shit.

11111111!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So far the only things I haven't liked about it have been weird changes in my sleeping patterns, drinking isn't fun anymore, and I get the shakes from time to time. As an antidepressant it seems quite nice actually, for me anyway.

Bryan (Bryan), Friday, 13 August 2004 05:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Bryan: dont recall any specific food reactions, but its been some years since I was on it. I do know it gave me these rushy, almost E-like attacks quite often tho, that I had a lot of trouble coping with. Hence the psuedoephedrine not agreeing with me. Seem to recall bad reflux as well. But yeah it did do some good, I think. I had to stop in the end tho, the anxiety was too much to handle.

Turns out I am naturally quite wound-up anyway, so... meh.

It's helped with the depression but not as well with the anxiety I was having, but it's only been a few days since I increased my daily dose up to 150 mg. Turns out the grapefruit warning applies to tons of medications. Very odd.

Bryan (Bryan), Friday, 13 August 2004 05:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Wow I never knew that. Cheese with the old style meds sure, but not grapefruit juice. Weird.

Yeah I have that bad catch-22 of anxious depression, which is hard to treat without worsening one or the other. Which is why I just load up on codiene and w33d instead. Yeah, thats doing me good :/

The one thing I really need to be doing is getting more therapy work done. I'm still overeating and I haven't gone back to work. Lots to do but at least I'm alive.
