kephm, Thursday, 19 August 2004 14:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Because I'm on a roll...

5. John Heard's "IF IT'S NOT MY FAULT, WHOSE FAULT IS IT?" scene from Scorsese's otherwise flawless "After Hours".

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 19 August 2004 14:06 (twenty-one years ago)

6. there's a scene they deleted from the Good Girl near the end which makes the whole movie make sense. Commentary: "uh, I don't know why we cut this."

kyle (akmonday), Thursday, 19 August 2004 16:48 (twenty-one years ago)

7. The long sequence in Boogie Nights with Becky Barnett killing her abusive husband with a frying pan. Genius use of Fleetwood Mac's "Tusk." Also, explains how the car got wrecked, necessitating the drug deal setup near the end. I think Anderson only cut it because he was afraid the Scorsese bite was getting *really* obvious.

Harold Media (kenan), Thursday, 19 August 2004 16:53 (twenty-one years ago)

(Not that he avoided that little pitfall, anyhoo.)

8. the Decepticon gangbang of Arcee in Transformers: The Movie; sure, it was necessary to get it down to a PG-13 rating, but, without it, the whole Optimus Prime death scene is just kinda empty.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 19 August 2004 17:07 (twenty-one years ago)

wow harold can't wait 2 see that.

u cant get the 2-discs version readily over here and i *really* want it.

piscesboy, Thursday, 19 August 2004 17:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Almost all the Boogie Nights outtakes are incredible IIRC. That movie really could have been longer (whereas Magnolia could have been so much shorter/not existed at all.)

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Thursday, 19 August 2004 17:16 (twenty-one years ago)

everything from Aliens

also, the cut 30 minute subplot from Empire Strikes Back involving wampas.

Lt. Kingfish Del Pickles (Kingfish), Thursday, 19 August 2004 17:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Most underservingly reinstated scene: the Jabba the Hutt scene in Star Wars (or A New Hope or whatever Lucas the Hutt is insisting we call it these days).

Wooden (Wooden), Thursday, 19 August 2004 17:20 (twenty-one years ago)

wait...*which* 30 minute subplot? is that a joke?
wampas? are they like the 'wamp-rats' from 'back home'?

tongue lolling out of mouth in anticipation
of 2 disc BOOGIE NIGHTS now.

piscesboy, Thursday, 19 August 2004 17:51 (twenty-one years ago)

weren't wampas those abominible snow men types?

sexyDancer, Thursday, 19 August 2004 17:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Oompah Loompahs, no?

Michael White (Hereward), Thursday, 19 August 2004 17:59 (twenty-one years ago)

The Boogie Nights disc also has the hilarious scene where Luis Guzman is trying to psyche himself up for his film debut (to show his brothers back in Puerto Rico) while Heather Graham undresses next to him.

Softly Weeping at the Oki Dog (Ben Boyer), Thursday, 19 August 2004 23:30 (twenty-one years ago)

The scene in Donnie Darko where his psychiatrist admits hes on a placebo and isnt mentally ill. It makes the whole bloody film make sense, WHY DID THEY CUT IT.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 19 August 2004 23:56 (twenty-one years ago)
