I often give my friends cds I've already burned or loan them albums, all the time in fact. but I never make mixes, specifically for specific people.

I think I'd want to put a massive amount of effort into it.

We asked our friend to make mix cds for our wedding, so that we danced the wedding to the idea they had of the whole thing and of ourselves as related to each other and to them...interested things came out.

Also, Nabisco's fantasy mixes make me think of a game we used to play wherein we'd think of the most incongruous mix of influences one could put on a band want ad, i.e.:

i did get a wonderful one from an ex just before we started dating... our situations were kind of fucked up, but she put the supremes' 'some day we'll be together on there' and that's one of my favourite ever songs.

i did one last year in lieu of christmas cards. and will do another again this year and was wondering about doing some art on the actual cd. most cds i've looked at are kinda dull and i'd like some art that's

a) cd shaped (including the hole?)
b) simple (am thinking i might do it as a linocut or something so black and white would be good).
