Morning Mark. I'm here, but worried that practically the first thing I did today was check ILX. Usually I try to wait at least until lunchtime. But I'm not all that busy right now, so...

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 09:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Checking ILX before coffee to see what kind of shit you stirred up with that thing you posted right before going to bed, c/d

TOMBOT, Tuesday, 21 September 2004 12:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry JBR, it was earlier, you missed it! ;-)

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 10:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm not at work. It is quite possible that I will never post from work again. Not from choice, as I was discussing with Johnney B earlier today in the pub, but because ilx has been blocked by the trolls in IT. For a while, it was not blocked, but could be accessed by a roundabout fashion, ie clicking on Archel's blog, going to the archives and clicking on the link to ILX that she had thoughtfully provided (a mention of the Cambridge FAP, fact and indeed FAP, fans). I remember mentioning this to Alang at the 1st of the two Ptee b'day FAPs. He said that it contradicted "all he knew about computing". I agreed.)

but, to cut, as Hadley, T., Pt., would say, a long story short, I'm going to be here (now) more in the late evening, at home, when the avrij Merkin is at work, so Feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel da lurvv.

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 21:52 (twenty-one years ago)

damn right 'tis "too early"! - 'bout 2 am where i'm at (home, tartu, 'stonia (E 's optional ('postrophe rulez) (etbloodycetera)))

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 21:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I wish I'd visited you when I was in Tallinn. But I was only in Estonia for 3 days and so there wasn't time!

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 22:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Ha?!
...Yeah, fukkin Tallinn.
Waddya do there, btw? Some free-wadada wheeling? :)

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 22:20 (twenty-one years ago)

mookieproof (mookieproof), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 22:21 (twenty-one years ago)

a bit late in estonia?

mookieproof (mookieproof), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 22:21 (twenty-one years ago)

a bit EARLY, rather! (as wz stated slightly upthread :)

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 22:22 (twenty-one years ago)

why do you hate Tallinn so much, t\'\'t? I'm not trying to get at you, I'm just genuinely interested. I was sorry not to visit Taru. I know it is an historic university town and that the university's flag became the flag of the nation - you have every right to be proud of that! But the fact remains I was booked on a short break and didn't have the opportunity to travel around.

I liked Tallinn, FWIW, it had lovely medieval walls. I went to a few cool restaurants and bars (inc one called Scotland Yard!), traipsed round the museums and did some shopping. I liked all the Eesti ppl I met. And I took a jetfoil trip across to Helsinki and met Tuomas!

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 22:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Woah? Yo met Tuomas! Well done.

re Tallinn: it ain't exactly that I "hate it so much" (tho it may well seem that way) (and truth be told, i happened to spend there -- living & working -- a couple of the worst years of my life)

sure, the old town's great. and i still got some v.good friends there, etc. (yeah, i've eaten at scotland yard too a few times)

it's just... i wouldn't want to live in that, erm, "city" ever again, if i can help it.

but i'm glad your experience of Estonia & 'stonians was good in general, MarkH!

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 22:38 (twenty-one years ago)

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 22:43 (twenty-one years ago)

it would be good to see a few of you over here t\'\'t!! (hint) :)

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 23:00 (twenty-one years ago)

This is only a test: My clock says 10:05 p.m. eastern daylight time in the US September 22nd, 2004 and the post I enter NOW should read pretty close to 2:05 a.m. September 23rd, 2004 stardate: 8325476

Again, this is only a test and thank you for your indulgence or something.

jim wentworth (wench), Thursday, 23 September 2004 01:03 (twenty-one years ago)
