Ceefax - C or D ?

Yesterday was the 30th anniversary of the birth of Ceefax, the BBC's teletext service and frequently the best thing on the TV.
So what of it ? Do you use it ? Like it ? Which pages ? You know the sort of thing, ILXers.

Me, well it is utter diamante classic, of course.

If I try and rank my top five pages, I think I'd go for

1. 302 - the instinctive reaction, go for footy
2. 160 - soooo London-centric
3. 535 - to see which indie band went in at number 26 this week
4. 436 - how bad is the Northern Line today ?
5. 312 - footy, slight return - the ultimate for pointless time-wasting on who Kidderminster have taken on loan from Leicester etc.

And what do you like about it, as well ? I mean, it pisses on the Internet for just coming in after a night out, flaking out on the sofa, reaching for the remote and voila, the cricket scores or something.

Not to mention Saturday afternoons with the TV on, sound down, watching an analogue screen and praying for the scores to change in the way you want them to ...

390 is good too, local football news, Timmy has hurt his knee oh no! Some Arsenal reserve player has gone a months loan to Colchester.

Ceefax is utter shite for looking at Saturday football fixtures, it has 11 pages for all the games why doesn't it have a seperate page for each division?

Oracle or whatever for ITV isn't much better.

But Ceefax is essential for quick tv guide listings 601 - 605
