So I'm looking to make the move from software to hardware and want some (preferably "workstation") type hardware to use. Is the MC-303 Groovebox worth the $150 it goes for on Ebay? Has anyone used any of the synths Elektron makes? http://www.elektron.se/

Monomachine:

The Machinedrum, truly a thing of beauty...

Also, is an MC-505 nice for making garage and house? Have one you wanna get rid of? Huh huh??

Oh yeah, can anyone recommend a nice cheap workstation (MC-505 like) type of hardware?

"Machinedrum SPS-1 is a dedicated percussion synthesizer and arranger. It offers four full tweakable MD-synths, advanced synchronized effect systems and a specialized percussion sequencer. Building on the classic traditions of drum machines, but introducing pioneering concepts, SPS-1 is a unique tool for patternbased rhythm creation.

Let the SPS-1 inspire you with new ways of creating and arranging percussion. Machinedrum is dedicated to drum synthesis and sequencing, and it makes a big difference compared to samplers, generic synthesizers and standard sequencers."

This thing really is fucking beautiful. Check the samples out.
