do you have some?

it's kind of weird. I have a favourite glass. it looks very good with coke and ice in it. I think I like it cos its brothers are all broken and it's the only one left now.

I still have a mug from the house I grew up in that I tend to pick for coffee drinking over all others. It's something I've defintely got an attatchment to.

My favourite is a mug with a cartoon whale on it that I bought from a hardware shop, for 80p.

Cathy (Cathy), Sunday, 26 September 2004 22:29 (twenty-one years ago)

every time my gf's dad is at our place he uses my mug, and i'm always afraid to say anything to him.

is it an alpha male thing, or do we just have the same taste in mugs?

I smashed my favourite mug, a snoopy'n'woodstock one that I picked up in a charity shop about four years ago, when I was doing the washing-up, and every time I made coffee I'd miss it. It was so comfortable! And mine! :(

Apparently during this summer's cricket after Ashley Giles had bowled particularly well in one test the next test match ground ordered a load of mugs with the slogan "Ashley Giles - King of Spin". Unfortunately they came back as "Ashley Giles - King of Spain" instead. I would KILL for one of those.

I have a Queen's Silver Jubilee mug too which I like but I only use it to keep pencils in.

this was my father's oatmeal mug when he was a little kid. I thought we lost this for years but found it only recently. It's the weirdest and creepiest thing! I don't actually use it since I'm afraid it will break or give me lead poisoning.

kyle (akmonday), Sunday, 26 September 2004 23:06 (twenty-one years ago)

i miss my snoopy glasses :-(

Cripps Pink (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 26 September 2004 23:06 (twenty-one years ago)

we've got a lovely two mug set with Frank Lloyd Wright's Imperial Hotel design on them.

This is the design, but the actual mugs are a little different.

I found some really heavy 20 oz. bar glasses at a dollar store a few years ago. They weigh almost a pound and a half each, empty — I wish I'd bought more than four of them.

Cripps, if you mean the Camp Snoopy glasses that McDonalds sold in the mid 80s, I have four that I'll sell you.

Yeah, those are the ones. I have four of the first five on that page — I lost the "Rats! Why is having fun etc" during one of the many moves. They're not ever going to be worth enough to put my daughter through college, so if you're interested in a buy or a trade, let's do a deal.

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Sunday, 26 September 2004 23:36 (twenty-one years ago)

i can't buy anything right now cuz i'm trying to save money, but maybe i'll take you up on that in a month or two.

Cripps Pink (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 26 September 2004 23:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I have a white mug with "coffee" written around the top near the rim in a cute curly font, my nan sent it to me for a birthday with bikkies stuffed inside. I use it every morning.

I also had a really cool Ren and Stimpy mug but that got broken :(

I have a plain white coffee mug that says

I HAD A BAD IDEA

All caps, no punctuation, simple font. Fantastic.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Monday, 27 September 2004 02:41 (twenty-one years ago)

The NTS mug is a fave too. My elephant mug is another

Gator Magoon (Chris Barrus), Monday, 27 September 2004 17:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I have two favorite mugs: One is just plain black, but it's larger than any of the other mugs we have, so it makes me feel like a man; the other my parents gave to me when I was like 12 or something and it says "I (Heart) My Attitude Problem" on it.

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 27 September 2004 17:21 (twenty-one years ago)

My favorite shot glass has "I LIKE TO GET DRUNK AND HUMP THINGS" written on it. It's funny cuz it's true etc etc.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 27 September 2004 17:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I have the ET glasses set from Pizza Hut! I do not use them for the fear that they will be broken. My favorite mug is purple with a cat on it (because I am twee)

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Monday, 27 September 2004 17:58 (twenty-one years ago)

three years pass...

square drinking glasses you are just not right

rrrobyn, Friday, 26 October 2007 17:48 (eighteen years ago)

we have them here at work
it's like every time i take a drink of water i have to make a v v minor decision

rrrobyn, Friday, 26 October 2007 17:49 (eighteen years ago)

i mean drinking out of corners? even rounded corners? just make a round glass
stupid retromodernism

rrrobyn, Friday, 26 October 2007 17:50 (eighteen years ago)

I had this perfect mug covered in equations and I broke it:

http://a0.vox.com/6a00b8ea0725de1bc000c2251fbf708fdb-200pi

I also had the same mug House M.D. has on TV! It's made by some German company and I broke it too. Why do I develop emotional attachments to anything? This is why we can't have nice things.

Abbott, Friday, 26 October 2007 18:26 (eighteen years ago)

non-attachment, man

my favourite glass these days appears to be a beer bottle

rrrobyn, Friday, 26 October 2007 23:48 (eighteen years ago)

round shaped

rrrobyn, Saturday, 27 October 2007 00:01 (eighteen years ago)

That reminds me to go throw a glass in my freezer for later beer holding.

Abbott, Saturday, 27 October 2007 00:04 (eighteen years ago)

that is a middle-man i have cut out due to time & energy constraints

rrrobyn, Saturday, 27 October 2007 00:09 (eighteen years ago)

I have a lovely square-ish glass that isn't at all difficult to drink from and when I drink whiskey from it I feel like Alan and Denny at the end of Boston Legal.

But my favourite glasses are these...
http://www.basedonatruestory.com/ldk/files/nutella00.jpg

We have about 6 of them. They never break, they are perfect size for kids and they are free (sort of).

Ned Trifle II, Saturday, 27 October 2007 09:06 (eighteen years ago)

OTM! I have a friend who pretty much only uses Nutella pots as glasses.
