There seem to be phases in the way i feel which occur for no good reason. Does anyone know anything about the existence of some kind of male hormonal cycle?

Don't know about that but I know a few boys who are always in bad form when their girlfriends have their periods...

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if there was a male cycle. But it also wouldn't surprise me if there wasn't.

I am usually in pretty bad form when muh wuhmmun is "due on". I don't think it's anything to do w/male cycle or whatever, it's just 'coz bad atmosphere @ home = me not feeling very happy.

I'm usually in pretty bad form when Emma is due on because she treats me like shit for three days!

We must all be 'governed by the moons and tides' in some sense. Werewolves are male aren't they?

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 28 September 2004 11:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I think werewolves are male, aye. My mum recounts reams of anecdotal evidence about the kids at her school (residential EBD) going loopy (ahem) when the moon is full.

Well there may be something in that, then. Creatures of the night to thread!

I reckon there is some sort of cyclical nature to male hormones but that it is less robust than the female equivalent i.e. less regular, more influenced by extraneous factors. I can't find anything specific about it online, particularly in terms of good old science. Loads of tantric stuff though.....

according to john gray, men have a cycle too, but it's a bit more loose than womens'. it's basically a withdrawal thing where they pull away for a bit to be by themselves or something. for more info, read his famous book.

Ah yeah, I've read that. "Women are like waves, men are like rubber bands." Women are like antelopes, men are like turtles.

Women are like weasels, Men are like mongeese?

When I was younger and totally far out maaaan I used to think that, where women's hormonal/emotional cycles were naturally aligned with lunar cycles, men's hormonal/emotional cycles were naturally aligned with solar cycles/seasons, and that a lot of the misunderstandings between the genders was due to misinterpretations stemming from desynchronized cycles.

"alcohol dulls the coherence of a man’s conversation, and it can produce an unpleasant physical aura. Gracelessness and bad odors emanate from a man who drinks immoderately. Excess alcohol consumption is usually a turn-off to a man’s sexual partner because alcohol dulls his sensitivities"

I should use that on my anti-FAP crusade.

The Irish government considers the consumption of four pints to be binge drinking. Can I send the Minister that quote?
