The Godfather DVD collection? Beautiful hand-carved wooden kitchen utensils, pestles, mortars etc. from this wonderful stall in Portobello market? A framed photo of you?

those rainbow-coloured tesselating tumblers, you know the ones. and organic blackcurrant cordial to put in them!

katie, Friday, 16 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

No - tell me more, katie. And where can they be bought?

Is this Emma? Erm, something to do with London, because she seems to be very interested in/knowledgable about the capital's history. The Peter Ackroyd book would be insultingly obvious/something she's already got, right?

If it's not Emma, I dunno.

Michael Jones, Friday, 16 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

No, it is Emma. And the Ackroyd book is a good idea. Thank you, Wise Mike.

they are different brightly-coloured glasses shaped like this )_) so when you put them together they look like a rainbow and they're really cool! rickyT and i saw them at i think Urban Outfitters along Kensington Hi-Street, but i reckon you could get them at other places.

I'm reading that Ackroyd book now, it's good. One day I'm going to whup all you London obsessed wusses with my London knowledge. I'm also reading PUNCTUATION. So just generally watch out. Altenative gift idea: THE HISTORY OF BRITAIN Part 2. I haven't seen it, but it's half price at Amazon, so you get double brownie points for the same outlay.

I'm always buying practical presents...does your sister need a new toaster, kettle, lamp etc.? Chrome is cool. jel=king of the uninspired presents.
