Cold feet.

All over the country millions of 30something couples settled down in front of the box with a nice bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to watch the new series of Cold feet.

Is it as good as the hype? Do you identify with any of the couples? Why are the men so emasculated without the women?

And should David just leave Karen and move in with the Spanish au pair?

Billy Dods, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

No! This will just encourage Will to go on about B******.

There was a US version of Cold Feet but I think it only lasted 3 episodes? I never watched it (or the UK version for that matter) anyway.

Billy Dods? WILL'S NADS more like. Fuck off Cold Feet and all who sail in her, say I revealing my sad terror at relative imminence of "the big three-oh", a phrase used by only the damned.

Rubbidge Rubbidge Rubbidge. I can't be doing with all these 30 something relationship dramas. Its probably just me but I want my action to affect relationships, not relationship as the be all & end all. Because, you know, even in real life they aren't.

Men = emasculated : Secret of its success. Just look at Friends...

50% of all people have below average enjoyment of sex.

I loved the first ever ep of Cold Feet, which I watched in a screening room while MORE DESPERATE TO GO TO THE LOO THAN ANY ANY TIME IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! It's gone downhill a bit since, and I don't think it's essential viewing any more.

And I used to fancy H**** B********, but I don't now.

am i the only person who's never seen any of it besides the trailers? i don't have room for all this new telly lark. It's rare that i'll commit to something new as i r so conservative. Bob and Rose has been the only recent exception, but then i have this thing for Jessica Stevenson, and it is written by a very nice man too.

Alan Trewartha, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i prefer Will&Grace

gareth, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

even the trailers make it seem shit...will and grace and karen and jack kicks butt all over this one.

Geoff, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Damning criticism from Gareth there.

RickyT, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

After much soul searching I decided to stick to The Way We Live Now which is a Quality Costume Drama not smug-yet-neurotic thirty something relationship bollocks. I think I made the right decision.

Emma, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Never seen it, but as a general rule I usually just avoid everything on ITV except the footie. It's easier that way.

Ally C, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

it's ok, ie CLEARLY better than WHAT WERE WE THINKING OF, which is appalling: CF dialectic = new man vs nu-lad

Teachers and As If pissed on it, obviously.

mark s, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

NO! teachers and as if EVEN WORSE. proof!

gareth, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

but that thread proves i am right not you gareth

mark s, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Sam, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

details mark, details!

gareth, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I suscribe myself along the 'I'd rather avoid ITV but Blind Date before going out on a Saturday' line. It usually has a very encouraging effect on my self-esteem.

Laetitia, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I have a weak spot for early middle age relationship dramas. I sobbed through thirtysomething when I was 14, *and* through most of the first series of Hearts and Bones (tho that probably had more to do with personal circumstances and the crapness of Amanda Holden than its quality or otherwise).

Cold FEet I can take or leave, and in fact left it half way through last night; it feels pretty much just tedious lifestyle drama (all fondling lovely bras and checking out the bedroom decor) and the stories all felt trumped up to me.

Ellie, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Will and Grace = dud as dud can be! I want to kill that prgramme.

Mark C, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

"Bob and Rose has been the only recent exception, but then i have this thing for Jessica Stevenson"

Jessica Stevenson's back on telly? Why wasn't I informed? I signed up for the newsletter.

Michael Jones, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

And yet you also love the equally terrible Black Books Mark? Weird.

Ally C, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Cold Feet = creeping death

DG, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Someone explain this to me, I've not heard of it. Anyway, the news of the American Iron Chef adaptation was freaky enough...

Ned Raggett, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

... how long was I out? What day is it?....

Will, Wednesday, 21 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

shes ugly, man, you need some glasses

gareth, Wednesday, 21 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

To quote the Pinefox, she's got perfect skin

Will, Wednesday, 21 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Cold feet = nausea.
