are dreams wilder or less inhibited (is that possible?) when the dreamer is drunk? discuss!

i have v uncomfortable dreams when drunk. sometimes i dream that i'm on drugs, where the 'natural' consequences of the dream state (people blending into other people, inability to locate oneself in time, general lack of clarity) serve to convince me further of my druggedness. it's v. weird.

when i stop smoking weed for a while, my dreams become more vivid.

i was drunk yesterday and dreamt that i was playing scrabble with koogs, cathy and caitlin on a scrabble board hung on a wall. so yeah it was more odd than usual

i had four beers before bed last night and dreamt that it was time to get a tattoo. so i go into this tattoo parlor thinking that i'll get something smallish (dunno what) but instead i black out on the table and wake up with a giant, elaborate tattooscape across the whole of my back. it's a pretty elaborate piece of work, with all sorts of cryptic messages and imagery, but the main part is two massive unfurling wings (one on each shoulder blade) with the corresponding words "DEF JUX" written in flowery biker scrawl.

i have never woken up more scared in my life!!

Yep. Happens to everybody. Pot inhibits REM sleep, which if you think about it is a pretty bad side-effect.

Drunk dreaming is where I get most of my tossing, moaning, and talking out of the way.
