nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:22 (twenty-one years ago)

guy who needs to turn his stereo down
narrowly avoiding getting crushed by an SUV
makes the sharp turn beautifully

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:23 (twenty-one years ago)

every single day. they are too embarrassing to reprint.

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Staaaaaapler, you're so nice to be around,
I'd never drop you on the ground
oooooooooooh stapler!

I am bored.

adam. (nordicskilla), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm on the internet
Up on the internet
posting stupid things to say
I'm drinking coffee
luke warm coff-ay
it is my third cup today

Huk-L, Monday, 25 October 2004 17:24 (twenty-one years ago)

This is a song that Sarah sings sometimes:
IIIIII'm hungry pungry bottle of bungry
Kick me in the ass and call me a mungry
Hungry pungry bottle of bungryyyyyyyyyyy...all the live long day, YEEHAH!

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Desk, gently smiling for me
And I love you, I love you, love you
God I do
Oh I love the way you love me
Every day is a special day for me
Living with you, just being with you
Oh my love, for all my life, my love, my love
Just for you
Oh I love to sing songs for you

Alba (Alba), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Um, ALL THE TIME.

I can't think of any right now, because I tend to make them up as I go along, they rarely rhyme, and they're usually have the same melody.

x-posts: ha ha, oh, thanks, Nick.

I have a hell of a lot of songs about my cats though, of course. I've posted some before. They're just little tunes I sing when I see them sometimes. Pepper has a christmas song even.
Roon Toons, the Christmas Cat, Toys for girls and boys....

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Transparent tape
is sticking with me
but nobody knows
because it's transparent!

I had a salmon salad sandwich for lunch
and did the crossword puzzle
it didn't take me an hour
so I came back to my desk

I startled the intern
And checked my messages
but there weren't any
because I turned off my voice mail

Huk-L, Monday, 25 October 2004 17:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I had to fix a lot of things this morning
’cause they were so scrambled
But now it’s okay
I tell you I’ve got enough to do

The afternoon was filled up with phone calls
What a hot sticky day, yeah yeah yeah
The air is cooling down

Take all the time you need
It’s a lovely night
If you decide to come
You’re gonna do it right

Drive for a couple miles
You’ll see a sign and turn left
For a couple blocks
Next is mine, you’ll turn left on a little road
It’s a bumpy one

You’ll see a white fence
Move the gate and drive through on the left side
Come right in
And you’ll find me in my house somewhere
Keeping busy while I wait

I get a lot of thoughts in the morning
I write ’em all down
If it wasn’t for that
I’d forget ’em in a while

And lately I’ve been thinking 'bout a good friend
I’d like to see more of, yeah yeah yeah
I think I’ll make a call

I wrote a number down
But I lost it
So I searched through my pocket book
I couldn’t find it
So I sat and concentrated on the number
And slowly it came to me
So I dialed it

And I let it ring a few times
There was no answer
So I let it ring a little more
Still no answer

So I hung up the telephone
Got some paper and sharpened up a pencil
And wrote a letter to my friend

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Pumpkin Pumpkin Pumpkin goo
Pumpkin man
pumpkin hand
put your hand inside the pumpkin head [Pumpkinhead! Bucket on my head!]
(I made this up last night whilst carving, um, pumpkins)

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I hate Dave, wanna punch him in the face
Throw my fists all over the place
Then I'll go back in the warehouse
switch the Lite radio to something else

AND THEN I'll GO CRAZY!
I'LL EAT PANCAKES ON HIS GRAVE!

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:32 (twenty-one years ago)

hahahaha!

adam. (nordicskilla), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:33 (twenty-one years ago)

I want a bottle of bungry.

Wooden (Wooden), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:34 (twenty-one years ago)

"We put our instruments away
Let them gather dust
Until a jumble sale one day"

From "We Falter, We Fail, We Fade"

jel -- (jel), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh buzzed-up alt-country band,
from Manitoba land
You should know better than that.

I don't want to talk to you
won't do no interview
'less you send me your CD stat.

Huk-L, Monday, 25 October 2004 17:35 (twenty-one years ago)

great!

adam. (nordicskilla), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I have the bungry song in my head now, oh no.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I can imagine James Kochalka singing the Bungry Song!!

jel -- (jel), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:39 (twenty-one years ago)

What ABV does Bungry have?

Wooden (Wooden), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:41 (twenty-one years ago)

When you sing it, you have to dance around too, like you're Yosemite Sam shooting into the air with both hands.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Tom Waits should record it.

Hank Tenbeer (kenan), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Hank Tenbeer (kenan), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyway, no I don't do this, and I think, with apologies to Sarah, that if I had to live with someone that did, I would be tempted to throttle them.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:47 (twenty-one years ago)

i dont have a massachusetts accent in the slightest but its been fun to add 'WICKED SPLITTAH' to everything for about a week , since i heard it during a redsox game. it doesnt sound like much but give me enough coffee and i will sing you the WICKED SPLITTAH MINI OPERA without request.

kephm (kephm), Monday, 25 October 2004 17:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I just got my license!
Driving's so much fun!
Push the gas right through the floor
Pedestrians start to run!

I am blinder than a bat
And can't tell left from right!
Speed up when I see a crosswalk
Pedestrians, goodnight!

dave q, Monday, 25 October 2004 17:55 (twenty-one years ago)

There's a creature under the bed
He's reading my comics and eating my sweets
If I close my eyes, he'll try and make me dead
I'm gonna hire the A-Team, to give him beats

jel -- (jel), Monday, 25 October 2004 18:03 (twenty-one years ago)

change the tape
change the tape
got to make myself remember to
change the tape

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 25 October 2004 18:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I mostly make up ad jingles for things -- the kind of over the top ad jingles you find mostly on local tv these days. Those of you who know the phrase "Buy all our playsets and toys!" will know what I'm talking about -- that style. Not that I can think of any of the lyrics right now... It's more about the swoopy melodies anyway.

Casuistry (Chris P), Monday, 25 October 2004 18:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Do sappy indie songs about girls count??

jel -- (jel), Monday, 25 October 2004 18:08 (twenty-one years ago)

plip plip plop plop
sit on the john watch another one drop

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 25 October 2004 18:09 (twenty-one years ago)

This morning I started singing, "I am Pedestrian, Hear me Roar, in numbers too big to ignore..."

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 25 October 2004 18:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Haven't seen the sun shine in about a week
There is some today
but it ain't coming my way

Because I'm home sick
Not sick of my home; I'm just home sick
Don't feel up to roaming around
Sinuses have brought me down

Haven't eaten solid in about a day
There is nothing about
(A store was not on my route)

Because I'm knocked out
I'm not seeing stars, I'm just medicated
Maiden with Blaze is kinda underrated
It's really not all that baaad

Pangolino (ricki spaghetti), Monday, 25 October 2004 18:39 (twenty-one years ago)

booooooooooooner, please gooooooooooooo away, there's no need for you heeeeeeeeeere today, so boner go away

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 25 October 2004 18:41 (twenty-one years ago)

BALLAD OF INCONGRUOUS BONER

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 25 October 2004 18:41 (twenty-one years ago)

If you love your boner, set it free. If it never returns, it was never meant to be.

Casuistry (Chris P), Monday, 25 October 2004 18:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Every time I just set my boner free, I end up with another indictment.

Michael White (Hereward), Monday, 25 October 2004 18:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Every time? Do you just sew it back on?

Pangolino (ricki spaghetti), Monday, 25 October 2004 18:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Flasherman on the corner, his name is Michael White..lalala.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Monday, 25 October 2004 18:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh - I used to.

the pinefox, Monday, 25 October 2004 19:30 (twenty-one years ago)

it doesnt sound like much but give me enough coffee and i will sing you the WICKED SPLITTAH MINI OPERA without request.

Yes please, now.

Also, I need to hear the hungry song.

luna (luna.c), Monday, 25 October 2004 19:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, Frake Fractions need to record the hungry song and pronto.

Casuistry (Chris P), Monday, 25 October 2004 19:42 (twenty-one years ago)

the last song i sang was a country ballad about a woman who was told by her doctor to have a pork baby. she then went to various members of her family to get their advice. sis & bro were for having the pork baby & her parents were wary. it got to be quite a song, lasting the entirety of my commute home...i guess i assume no one can hear me singing while i'm on my bike so i have a tendency to sing louder than perhaps i ought to....

kelsey (kelstarry), Monday, 25 October 2004 19:43 (twenty-one years ago)

"Frake"

I will attempt to surreptitiously record Sarah singing the hungry song.

xpost OMG PORK BABY!

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 25 October 2004 19:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Wow. I could never do anything as creative as Pork Baby.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Monday, 25 October 2004 19:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know, jocelyn. Pumpkin Head was pretty inspiring...

What's embarassing about the Hungry Pungry song is that sometimes I'll find myself about to bust right into it when I'm around people who don't know me so well. It takes a lot of restraint being me.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 25 October 2004 19:50 (twenty-one years ago)

i don't know where pork baby came from........

kelsey (kelstarry), Monday, 25 October 2004 19:54 (twenty-one years ago)

From the woman?

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 25 October 2004 19:57 (twenty-one years ago)

*groan*

kelsey (kelstarry), Monday, 25 October 2004 19:58 (twenty-one years ago)

"I LOVE MY DEAD GAY PORK BABY!"

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 25 October 2004 19:58 (twenty-one years ago)

A lot of times, my random songs turn into country western patriotic songs. Then I'll go into part of this SNL skit of a TV ad for country hits. This one lady says,
"And she asked me, Momma, Why did god make snowflakes?
And I said, Crystal, because of you.."

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 25 October 2004 20:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, singing patriotic country songs is a big part of our relationship.

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 25 October 2004 20:00 (twenty-one years ago)

sarah, that's awesome. i tend to sing songs that border on cheesy sensibilities & also involve some kind of meat or food. i made up a song about broccoli & asparagus, eggs (both with john), ginger lassi (i don't even know if that exists) . . . i think a lot of my songs involve a longing of some sort. hmmm. i probably shouldn't analyze this too much. i'll get all weird & start over-thinking it.

kelsey (kelstarry), Monday, 25 October 2004 20:13 (twenty-one years ago)

by the way...i got your email *today* & emailed you back SMcL.

kelsey (kelstarry), Monday, 25 October 2004 20:26 (twenty-one years ago)

But Sarah, if you record it and it becomes a hit then everyone will know the song and you won't have to feel embarrassed singing it around strangers, since they will know what you're talking about. So you should do it.

Casuistry (Chris P), Monday, 25 October 2004 20:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, I always want to say "Fake Fictions" as something else. "Frickafractions", for example. Or "Freak Falcons".

(This is a good thing, btw.)

Casuistry (Chris P), Monday, 25 October 2004 20:36 (twenty-one years ago)

FREAK FALCONS!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 14:31 (twenty-one years ago)

(What about the Fuck Factions? the Freak Fringes? - There are actually lots of real FF bands, like Fiercy Furnaces, Franz Ferdinand.. And then there's the band The Fakes who had an album called Real Fiction...)

(Thanx, Kelsey, I'll email you back!)

Another one of my cat songs:
"We got TwOOOOOOO cats!
We got TWOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH cats!
We got TWHOOOOO OOOOHHH catS!
And they're comin' to say goodni-ght, to you-"

Sarah McLusky (coco), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 15:11 (twenty-one years ago)

I like the words Friction and Fraction and regret we didn't make them part of our band name.

n/a (Nick A.), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 15:25 (twenty-one years ago)

My friend Crystal used to have a song about going to the grocery store:

Get up and go to Ralphs with me
get up and go to Ralphs with me
get up and go to Ralphs with meee
Get UPPPPPPPPPPPP and gotoralphswithme!

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 15:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Also:

Ooooooh, DeeDee is a friend of mine
and she looks like a Frankenstein
a Frankenstein
a Frankenstein
a big ol' ugly Frankensteinnnn.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 15:28 (twenty-one years ago)

The "eggs" song that Kelsey and I wrote five years ago:

"Eggs fucking eggs fucking OTHER eggs
In the DAIRY section of the SUPERmarket

Supermarket, supermarket, supermarket, supermarket"
[this was repeated for a while: occasionally I would spice it up by throwing in a "supermercado"]

I think that was it.

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 15:33 (twenty-one years ago)

and i would sometimes chime in with "supermarket superstar" . . .

kelsey (kelstarry), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 15:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't think I do this. if I've been in the house alone for a whole day I sometimes sing or shout at myself in the mirror, but since nobody sees it the truth is I don't do this at all, in fact as far as they're concerned I'm reading a book, or watching a popular TV show.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 15:42 (twenty-one years ago)

ha ha SUPERMERCADO

When I worked in this one restaurant me and this dishwasher dude made up a song that was like "cuidado cuidado cuidado [whatever spanish for 'wet floor' was]...NOOOOOOOOOOO!...los siente!".

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)
