What's your equalizer setting on iTunes?

I've been trying out all the pre-sets but somehow they're always a bit off. I don't know anything about dB frequencies and such so I end up randomly playing around with the equalizer. Can anyone recommend a setting?

Erm, I just use the presets for each style of music. Rock for rock, jazz for jazz etc.
Sounds fine on my little Dell speakers.

I use BASS BOOSTER cuz I gotta have that BASS.

Non! Actually, I cut the bass because my computer speakers are insanely bass heavy.

My computer is hooked up to my stereo, and I have the equaliser turned off. I'm a bit of a rockist when it comes to graphic equalisers.

Yes, I forgot to mention that I also hook up my cpu to my stereo. Somehow, the sound gets very bass heavy when plugged into a stereo.

Lots o lowend bass, lots of upper register treb, middle knocked out.

I think I liked Robin Guthrie's production style a little overly much.

you guys shouldn't do this. musicians didn't intend it.

Low in the middle and a little above normal on both ends. The classic.

They didn't intend for people to listen to low bitrate mp3s on cheap speakers, either. Us po' folks have to get by somehow.

In my living room I have a very nice pair of old paper-cone speakers and a fancy hi-fi. There's no equalizer on it, as well there shouldn't be, just a bass and a treble knob for slight tweaks. Mine are almost always right in the middle.

Hank Tenbeer (kenan), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 01:43 (twenty-one years ago)

FLAT

TOMBOT, Tuesday, 26 October 2004 01:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah if I was meant to only listen to the mix how it was intended in the studio I'd have to give up, I cant afford a fackin' recording studio of speakers and gear.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 01:47 (twenty-one years ago)

And I dont use EQ on my proper stereo, which has only treb and bass. I EQ winamp cos winamp sucks.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 01:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Same here. iTunes is better for sound quality when burning, but not by much.

Hank Tenbeer (kenan), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 01:49 (twenty-one years ago)

why flat:

niiice.

Hank Tenbeer (kenan), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 01:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't believe in EQ. I have a great stereo, as well as a pair of nearfields like Tom's above.

Andrew (enneff), Tuesday, 26 October 2004 02:57 (twenty-one years ago)

four years pass...

Soooo... what equalizer setting do you use on your iPod? I got some new headphones so I'm trying out different equalizers... I like Dance becasue it's a great mix of bass & treble, but it's a little too bassy sometimes and I can hear a little distortion which annoys me so I'm trying Classical now and I dunno...
