the guy who works janitorial in the school cafeteria looks EXACTLY like charles mingus. (okay, mingus with cornrows, but mingus nonetheless.) it's eerie; i almost invariably start humming the first few bars of any track on "ah um" in his presence (to myself of course.) do you know anyone who is a dead ringer for a famous person? are you yourself resembling a famous person?

Friend of mine, Stephen looks very like Dane Bowers. Mentioned that before actually. my brother looks like Tom Greene. One of my friends looks like Chesney Hawkes. Well.....not that much but it pisses him off so yes he does.

I have been compared to Louis Theroux, Jarvis Cocker and most recently Rodney from only Fools and Horses. None of my pals look like famous people...though one friend does look a little like Michael Atherton, the former England test match cricketer.

A friend of Brian's and mine, Eric Reynolds, continually got comparisons to Kurt Cobain when the latter was alive, to the point that when Eric worked as an intern at Fantagraphics in the summer of 1993, allegedly he was followed by some Nirvana fans around the city.

Anyhow, my sister apparently looks like Katie Holmes, except she doesn't. The cool guy at Pomodoro's is Andy Garcia's doppleganger; in fact he might actually BE Andy Garcia, has he been in movies lately? I resemble all famous people, apparently. I get Liz Hurley when I have dark hair, which makes no sense.

Central Casting would have some fun with my friends. My friend Feargus looks like Michael Clark minus the Class A's. My friend Hugo looked like Charlie Sexton and Adam Ant when he was 17 and now looks like Rupert Everett circa Another Country. My friend Dan looks like Astro Boy. Billy, the son of my mum's boyfriend, looks like Dean Cain in the New Adventures Of Superman (except with lighter hair). My cousin TR looks like a *tall* Mark Ibold from Pavement. My friend Heather looks like Heather Graham if drawn by Manga artists. My friend Jim isn't allowed to wear Hawaiian shirts because we start calling him Hawkeye and can't stop if he does. Photos of my mother when young look like Chloe Sevigny, my aunt looked like Grace Kelly throughout time and also Karen Grassle, who played Caroline Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie.

The absolute ringer of the lot is my friend Carlos, who is the *spit* of John Turturro in Barton Fink; so much so that when he'd returned to Malmesbury to visit his folks, his crazy Spanish mum started to watch it on telly, saw Turturro, and spent the rest of the night looking back and forth at Carlos and the screen as if the whole entire world was fucking with her head. When he shaves off his curls Carlos is also Franz Kafka.

We have done this before but anyway. Pete is a fabled sleb lookie likey for all of the following at various points in history: Henry VIII, Chris Moyles (well anyone fat with a beard when he had a beard and was fatter), Prince William, Matt Damon, Damon Albarn, Robert Redford etc. etc. Needless to say his resemblance to any of these people ends at the fact that they are all humanoid.

My ex-girlfriend Hannah looks like a porn star who was prominent in a magazine my father unwisely bought me (after considerable persuasion) when I was 14. The resemblance was so strong that, despite the fact Hannah must be a good 10 years younger than said porn star, I never quite saw her in the same way after I made the connection.
