Saw the trailer in the cinema last night - EXCITED! Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand as Stiller's parents... Meet The Parents is one of my favourite movies of recent years.

Is it out in the states yet?

So this is finally getting a release then? I have not seen the trailer, but I cannot wait. Meet the Parents is one of my favourite films.

It only took 70 hours to make, not bad considering it was carved from a single piece of celuloid.

the trailer was rescued from an old seamen's chappel in Nantucket

I was excited to see this, but the trailer turned me right off. :(

Totally stupid but I laughed a lot (sometimes with, sometimes at) and it helps that I got to see it for free and never saw all of Meet The Parents (plus I seem to be one of 5 people on the planet who isn't sick of Ben Stiller). My Brooklyn-to-Florida grandparents think its the best movie ever.

there's a blooper on the dvd where during the circumcision scene, hoffman says "you know, i went into acting to do shakespeare". I don't think he was joking.

five years pass...

Is there any more substance to this franchise than the lameass, obvious gag in the title?

no

twat dust and ego overload (Shakey Mo Collier), Wednesday, 22 December 2010 23:31 (fifteen years ago)

they aren't bad, really, but that's about the level of depth you can expect

Babs had a couple of good moments in the second one.

Gus Van Sotosyn (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 22 December 2010 23:41 (fifteen years ago)

Owen Wilson was great in the first one, but thats about all I can defend.

one pretty obvious guy in the obvious (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Wednesday, 22 December 2010 23:48 (fifteen years ago)

two years pass...

there is an incredible scene early in this movie where stiller makes a phone call as the family is getting in the RV and it is the worst use of green screen I have ever seen. For this reason alone I recommend the film.

Wasn't there a third movie? Did anyone see it?
