Don Knotts: the loveable loser

I love Mr. Knotts, as Mr. Limpet, Mr. Fife, and the man in SALLY the Field-Goal Kicking Mule, his time is expired, he is irredeemable, the man of the bulgy eye is forever the tops.

oddly enough ms fibonacci i nearly mentioned him earlier today: as in taking sides, Don Knotts vs Michael Caine (someone dissed Herbie at the expense of The Italian Job). But I forgot. Arto Lindsay = James Brown in Don Knotts' body as all kno, so classic (jeeps he must be tired of hearing that).

I wonder who Don Knotts in James Brown's body is?

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 25 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Magnificently endowed. Oh no wait, that's Wally Cox. Sorry.

Arthur, Sunday, 25 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Like, thanks so much for making me laugh so unexpectedly jess! I now have diet coke *all over* my laptop. ;P

Don Knots is special even when he was With Andy Griffith. He was a joy! :) Gale

A re- assessment of Knotts' body of work.

Yet Don Knotts was the (post-Ropers) landlord in "Three's Company." Barney Fife as a randy old goat. What was up with that?

Tadeusz Suchodolski, Monday, 26 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

"Yet Don Knotts was the (post-Ropers) landlord in "Three's Company." "

Let me get this straight:

The Ropers = George & Mildred? Three's Company = Robin's Nest? ?? = Man About The House?

I'm sure I could Google this nonsense up, but I prefer the flavour of answers in here.

Mark S: Arto L's version of "Erotic City" now rendered even funnier. Cheers.

Michael Jones, Monday, 26 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Three's Company = Man About the House, I believe.

I've been reading this board since it started, and I just quit being a big shyface recently. I posted under 11235 for a while, and then Fivvy after that.
