Taking sides: First Kiss Feelings vs Everyday Sensations

Um, this is kind of a combination of Gale's question about falling in love with strangers, the way I feel at the moment and my favourite Girlfrendo song.

So, which do you prefer, those exciting, awkward first moments when you're both complete strangers (and therefore have entire LIVES to tell each other about) or the (slightly scary) realisation that you and loved one are gradually becoming the same person (and therefore have your day at work &c to talk about?)

The scarey part is realizing you are with a stranger in the first place. Then you realize Hey! WHAT? Where am I supposed to be going? Who are you anyway? And then you think I have known you forever and then you think, I'll never see you again, but I'll never forget you! Now that IS scarey!

Old style a-affection. Nothing can rival the early stages for excitement of course, but the security of being loved without feeling paranoid or scared is second to none.

When it's not so awkward because you know that you get along but you STILL have lives to telle ach other about. Although being really comfortable is good too.

i much prefer the early stages when you are just getting to know a person. the excitement, the thrills, the spinetingling when the person leans towards you for the first kiss, and you start reeling... love it!

the "realisation that you and loved one are gradually becoming the same person" is all very lovely, but when it ends then you have to go through the painful and scarey process of finding yourself again, and that is one helluva dud.

Sometimes that comes quicker than you might think...

First Kiss galore for me. Especially after exchanging quirky glances across a dancefloor. I consider I do not like myself as much as to wish any other individual to become part of this flawed ensemble. In consequence, the predicted pleasant process of becoming closer and closer to the beloved one normally bursts into disaster and I just ran away mumbling excuses

Oh dear, I think Laetitia has just written the story of my life.

What Gale said, because that was spot on. I saw that with my parents. Fourty years and then nothing. You think you've reached a state of equilibrium when you're actually hanging off the edge of a precipice.

Those first feelings are memories that will stay with you forever. Even if the relationship subsequently doesn't work out, they can be looked back on with great fondness.

Oh gosh, well I'm still in that first kisses phase, so I can't think straight...

RG, I'm totally off-topic here, but your best Pop Music list was in my humble estimation, bloody brilliant.
