Ooh! I'll be good at THIS one! Although not very interesting, just prolific. It's good procrastination.

Five things I hate most about homework:

5) How sometimes it could be interesting if I wasn't in a rush and having lots of obligations
4) When it requires me to sing in front of my family, oh, please, no
3) The utter dullness of reading in the textbook about Civil War battles
2) The utter repetitive dullness of writing notes on Civil War battles
1) The absolute frustration of sitting through class the next day listening to a lecture on THE THINGS I JUST WROTE

3) Wants and moralities get in the way of enjoying everything

1) Sleep is not optional

4. Loud incessant prattle about nothing and total pig-ignorance of subject.

Worst 5 Things about University. 1. Those annoying lectures which break up my day, particularly "Cultural and Historical Perspectives"-Basically watching crap videos about the famine and the first tv station in Ireland. 2. The Pool tables in the bar which are occupied all day by the same few losers who refuse to leave them. Of course you could try and beat them and win the table but they tend to be lounge lizard types and also you'd have to talk to them then. 3. The Jukebox in the bar. I need not say more. 4. The Fosters in the bar which is 2.20 for a pint therefore it is morally wrong not to buy it and a waste of money cos everything else is 2.65. But it's so erratic, some days it's lovely, often it's far from lovely. 5. The Fridays. There seem to be a majority of people from outside Dublin in DCU. This means they all go home on thursday night leaving the bar and the campus dead and boring every Friday. Last Friday me and a friend were the only ones there. Sorry state of affairs really.

Ronan, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Mark C, none of them quite compete with the insanity of The Lampies, which is a real show and appears to be about a bunch of friendly talking streetlamps with faces (I haven't seen it, just a picture in Music Week (what was it doing there? friendly talking streetlamps with a pop record out? Stop this madness)).

Mark C, you *are* the man at Decca who turned down The Beatles.

Michael Jones, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Hmm. Graham, for what it's worth I personally rejected The Lampies on two occasions, but the producer then started shagging the commissioning editor of animation at the BBC. My company then decided that politically, it would be best to take it on, so we financed it and we now distribute it. Oh, the shame. Still, having already turned down the Beatles, perhaps this counts as me turning down The Lighthouse Family as well. Does that make things better?

Mark C, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I will attempt 5 things which anger me. Lacking a proper temper may make this hard. Also, I cannot do proper spacing. 1. Buses that don't come for hours when it is cold and I have bags of Tesco and don't they know I've had a hard day and why is it always my bus that comes last leaving me lonely at the bus stop? and then there are 2 there, when they shouldn't be. 2.That customer at work who repeatedly says 'thankyou', often unprompted. I would complain if she didn't say thank you, but to say it over and over? Really pisses me off. 3. That the Krays and other murderers are now lovable rogues 4.People who stare at me on public transport and read over my shoulder 5. PEOPLE WHO GET IN MY WAY, ie, stand in front of tube doors leaving me to barge through them and then look offended. cunts.

alix, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Alix -- those 5 will do for me too. those bastards on tube that get on before you get off -- utter fuXoRs.

Alan Trewartha, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)
