Katie is a hippy! Katie is a hippy!

If you're very unlucky you might meet Richie Edwards (also being a HIPPY in India) while you're there.

RickyT, Wednesday, 28 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I've thought about doing this a fair bit - in a kind of abstract way. The problem is my lack of practical skills eg other languages, practicl mechanical skills, IT wizardry etc which would enable me to earn money in my nu life. So I'd probably try and nick somebody else's.

Katie - are you some kind of hippy?

Tom, Wednesday, 28 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i am *not* a hippy. proof? i have a v sore throat from spending most of last night doing impressions of Cartman saying things are "tree hugging crap" and the like.

oh OK then i am a hippy.

katie, Wednesday, 28 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Why Redbridge, Mark?

DG, Wednesday, 28 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Hmmm, I suspect the sore throat came more from you and Sarah repeatedly singing Sweet Child Of Mine at the tops of your voices than any mere South park impersonations.

RickyT, Wednesday, 28 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

me and sarah = slash 'n' axl

katie, Wednesday, 28 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

to see if you were reading DG

mark s, Wednesday, 28 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I would probably not do this, but if I were to I would have to go somewhere I had never been.

And I've never been to me.

Pete, Wednesday, 28 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH. There, that was for you, Pete.

Uh...*scratches head*...I think I'd go to New Zealand, as summer is happening there now and all, and figure out what to do. The assistance of the Dunedin crew would be appreciated. ;-)

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 28 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

seek government funding and start my own religion in LA.

Menelaus Darcy, Wednesday, 28 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

"this is SOOO gap year student but i would go to India."

Will this entail collecting the holy scriptures from Tathagata Buddha, the father Buddha?

If so, this is known as "doing a Monkey".

Trevor, Wednesday, 28 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'd wander around for a bit, and probably decide that my old life was significantlt better and go back to it.

james, Wednesday, 28 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I would go to Bicester. No one would ever think anyone would want to go there.

alix, Wednesday, 28 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Every time I see this thread, I think of my co-worker who has this very name, and who does have a habit of 'walking out' and disappearing for a half-hour or hour at a time.

Kerry, Wednesday, 28 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I would become a vagabond! I would move from dumpster to dumpster, searching for the lost passage to Valhalla, hoisting a backpack and clutching a sacred talisman (ie, a rock). When people approached me, I would scream, "BEGONE, FOUL WRAITH!" and flee before they could steal my soul. It would be a lonely life, yet rewarding. My adventures would culminate with a really long shower and a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel about the adventures of a Shitzu named Maxie. Eventually, I would have my own soap opera, but I don't want to get too far ahead of myself...

Dan Perry, Wednesday, 28 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Eastern europe.

Norman Phay, Wednesday, 28 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I would walk the globe having adventures.

Samantha, Wednesday, 28 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I would go and live on the Isle of Man...I might do that one day anyway.

james, Wednesday, 28 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Tax evasion? Victorian homosexuality laws?

I actually attempted to do this earlier today. Travel Britain for a bit, then other parts of the world, then probably come back home and live much the same life I'm living at the moment. The first place I'd go would be Dartington Hall, which I suppose puts me right up there with Katie, eh?
