Maybe this should be on ILM but I don't know.

Anyway I heard that song of hers today, Family Affair is it? and theres that line at the end where she sings "no more drame in our life". And I realised that every time I hear the song I think about how stupid that line is. Does that concept really irritate anyone else or am I being mad. I mean what the hell is the point of having no drama in your life. It seems like such a ditzy line to me.

"Drama" in hip-hop/r&b slang has a more specific meaning, though? Of violent conflict? Which you could imagine not having being good?

Shit that explains everything.

I didn't know that actually. I still think drama good and bad is somewhat necessary.

Not just violent conflict, Tom, but conflict that's specifically unneccessary, and often indulged in just for the sake of having something to talk about. And the converse, blowing something all out of proportion for purposes of same.

Whatever happened to "trifling?" Remember when everyone was triflin', and that was the source of all the drama?

Note that I really like Mary's new "Just Say No to Drama" attitude. Seriously, get a pen and write it down.

Is this a good place to talk about the new Angie Stone album?

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 28 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

sample chorus: "you got mad issues"

is it good? thought the last one was ok, but it got a bit dull in places.

It's pretty bad. And the last song is awful.
