Did anyone notice the Supreme Court Justices' "winter caps"?

At inagurations and whatnot, they wear these cool little black Russian-prisoner type caps... Scalia almost looked like Professor Grif!

Seriously, they looked like Uzbeki parliament members.

"The remainder of the Judges Regalia which I will not bother to go into the history of at the present moment (but will be pleased to do so if you require further information) consists of the Scarf, (or stole), the Casting Hood, The Girdle (or Sash), The Hood, The Bands, The Court Suits, The Wigs, The Black Cap, The Tri-Cornered Hat (Tricorn) and the White Kid Gloves..."

This is the first presidential inauguration that I've missed since 1989. Fuck it. I'm done giving a shit who's president.

I was lounging on the couch, kind of half listening and half dozing, so I didn't actually see anything. I am pretty sure that no bombs went off, and that Laura didn't turn into a pterodactyl, but I also remember that Cheney repeated his vice-presidential oath like so:

"I do solemnly swear that I will subvert and ... the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same: that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God."

I am less sure that this was a dream.
