Have you consulted the manual?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 26 January 2005 11:33 (twenty-one years ago)

There's a little lever somewhere inside the car - under the steering wheel I think??

Mog, Wednesday, 26 January 2005 11:34 (twenty-one years ago)

or somewhere in the vicinity of the dashboard, anyway

Mog, Wednesday, 26 January 2005 11:34 (twenty-one years ago)

There's probably a lever underneath the storage shelf below the steering wheel area or below the glove compartment. It might be low down or far back, so persist.

(also, "hood"? I thought you were British?)

the manual is somewhere unknown to mankind and so is this bloody lever.

thanks though, i SHOULD be able to find it i guess.

re: hood: in my currect panic i can't remember what the other name for it is

Right hand side of driver's footwell i think. bonnet, man.

beanz (beanz), Wednesday, 26 January 2005 12:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, right hand side of the footwell, just to the right of the accelerator

(it baffled me for a while the first time I had to find it on mine)

caitlin (caitlin), Wednesday, 26 January 2005 12:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Pull the lever in the footwell, then lift the bonnet slightly, feel for a catch under the bonnet (most likely somewhere near the middle), this will release the bonnet fully.

awesome

BONNET i knew that was the word.

so i had to fork out £54 for a new battery. IT had leaked and corroded stuff too. Its definately karma.

definitely.

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 26 January 2005 13:44 (twenty-one years ago)

If you can't even work out how to get the bonnet open, were you really expecting to be able to fix whatever was wrong?

My karma ran over my dogma.
