Have you ever had good ideas come to you in a dream?

I just did. I work for the ITS department at my school as a programmer. Because of policy, our salaries are capped at some kind of low value. Recently, the admissions department has started offering opening programming positions at salaries considerably above mine (the most senior student employee's). I had a dream that told me to post the flyer on the wall across from the exit to our suite of offices. My boss and his bosses will have no choice but to see it every day. Will they be afraid of a mass defection by all the programmers? Will I get a raise? Tune in later!

Can you guess what song from Katamari Damacy is stuck in my head now?

Good luck Jon.

I've never had a dream that suggests a course of action in that way. I've woken up with a better grasp of a problem but that's the same with everyone I think. Occasionally I've had a lucid dream and thought to myself while asleep, 'this dream would make a great play/story' but when I wake up it's clear it was just a regular confused non-narrative dream like all the others.

I should contact the economics department and have them do a case study on this.....

I had a "This would make a great Boo Radleys single" song dream.

I wrote it down. It still would.

I like that story Michel Gondry tells on his DVD. Something like he was having a dream that Spike Jonze had made an incredible film of an egg moving around a pool table. Michel (in his dream) was devastated that someone could come up with such a great idea. When he woke up he thought to himself "But Spike didn't make the film - I made it up in my head!". Then he thought to himself that it was a crap idea for a film because all it was was an egg rolling around on a table.

That song is like my least favorite except for the one with the children singing in it. You like some annoying shit, john.
