and why ?

Arseholes who use the internet's anonymity and distance to make lazy, malicious digs at people and then refuse to debate the issue. I ave been guilty of this more times than I care to mention, though I do tend to feel a kind of adrenaline-fuelled guilt if I do it.

Westlife - all of them.

SUVs and the people who drive them. Why? They are horrible environmentally disastrous machines and 90% of the people who drive them don't really need them.

What Samantha said.

Meeting ANY male friends' new partners not by choice because they're too fucking insecure to let their boyfriend come out on his own to see a longtime friend.

Nothing. I have no sensibilities. No, no, actually, bus time tables offend me. They're downright lies. Being incorrectly accused also offends me.

alix, Thursday, 29 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Bus tables around here work; then again, there are less buses anyway.

Dogmatism. Hate. Not letting your guard down (very important -- I have nothing wrong with lashing out per se, but I see it as a necessary defense against the world rather than an end to itself).

The trick with SUVs is finding the correct one. A vehicle like the newer (2001 and up) Toyota Rav4 (which, SURPRISE, is the vehicle I own) is more like a slightly larger car than a truck. In fact, the Rav4 shares a chassis with the Camry, so it gets the same gas mileage.

Stupidity deeply offends me.

I nearly got in a fight with a guy in a supermarket parking lot with some dude in a Cadillac SUV. Cadillac, Mercedes and Lexus SUVs are the vilest of the lot.

Apologies for the scattershot formation of that last sentenence. X is being discussed on Fresh Air and I was distracted.

Bad language reason being everybody uses it. :( Gale

SUVs/Minivans due to my past life of driving around town in a leaky Rustang with pizzas stacked on the passengar seat.

Mr Noodles, Thursday, 29 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Men who think massage means sex despite the fact that it is illegal in Victoria to use the word massage anywhere in the description of a sexual service and that to advertise sex you must have declare a Prostitution Control Act number in the advertisement. Okay, maybe it is uninformed consumers that I hate.

Deliberate dishonesty.

Not harmless white lies, but deliberate dishonestly, especially deliberate witholding of information which critically affects other people.

kate, Friday, 30 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

SUV's are awful. I nearly got crushed by a stupid teenager driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee a couple years back. Luckily it was only my teeny car that needed extensive repairs and not me.

Not only are they terrible for the environment, the majority of people driving them simply do not know how to operate them. They stupidly believe that an SUV can be driven in the same way as a car, and it simply isn't so -- you need to learn how to make turns, stops, etc. in an entirely different way. That's why you see so many rollover accidents in SUVs, it's mostly down to poor driving skills rather than excuses like faulty tires.
